Great venue for fishing, enjoying the cafe and even for a walk after lunch. My only issue, as a fisherman, is access to the water. People who aren't nimble footed would have great difficulty in fishing.....the grassed areas appear to be good but there is a big drop from where the grass ends, to the rocky fishing spot....a step down would be a fantastic addition?

Nice cafe fantasy cake and wonderful views

Coffee ÂŁ3 per cup. Exceptionally slow service , even though hardly any customers. Boat shaped cups so coffee went cold outside very quickly. Nice views.

Had a really nice walk up the hill then stopped for an ice cream on the lake.

Really beautiful place for a walk and also fishing is decently priced and friendly service. We didn't catch anything but there was plenty of action and we are beginners - will be returning in better weather! There's also toilet facilities and parking which is handy. Only thing that ruined it is the people walking around directly through the fisherman's back cast so I often felt on edge as kids and dog walkers were often even standing and watching right where they could easily get a hook to their eye. There are big signs but people are ignorant so I would say the the area needs to be blocked off properly to feel totally safe.

Its a bit of a hidden gem and we only discovered this great place by taking a chance and stopping after curiosity at seeing people starting their walk at the top of the raised path near the road got the better of us.Lovely place for a walk and a bite to eat. Great find in the lockdown and the view is nice as well. Follow the path and over the little Brook into Swallows Wood and there's even more to discover. Our dog loves it here just as much and always meets lots of friendly people who have discovered this great place you'd normally just drive past without thinking about.

Beautiful scenic place full of lovely walks and wildlifeSo much beautiful history to find around this whole area and even a waterfall of two if you follow the river :)

Well it's a lovely place & the owners are very nice. The food I had was very nice & well the views go without saying, as the pictures prove. The only bad thing that I would say is it's not well enough advertised at all. I know that there is a big sign on the road but who is going to read all that going at high speed. The advertisment for the wonderful café is not really visable at all we have gone past so many times & just thought it was a fishery & not a fishery & a café. They needs to be a big sign on the road to say that they're open or closed & advertise that it's a café all so.

Beautiful tranquil place nice to sit and just have a coffee or they do a lovely breakfast and also do food throughout the day sometimes when it is busy you can have a bit of a wait for food but would recommend a visit

Beautiful place to visit for the cafe alone and sitting looking at the fantastic view. Easy to get to and good car park. Fly fishing instruction is very good and the quality and presentation of food and drink in the cafe is perfect. The over-water decking area with umbrellas is like the Med!
