Baileys in High Peak

We enjoyed a meal here on our last night in Buxton. It was a very lovely experience! Food was tasty and the manager/owner was very friendly and helpful. It’s central location is a bonus!

Great location in hidden gem Buxton, they serve exotic meats (had zebra and kangaroo the day we visited).

What a great restaurant Staff so attentive and helpful.Catered to our every need, Im restricted to food type, so mixed n matched my meal. Was delicious and well, presented, Kath had Mahi Mahi a delicate fish said was superb and great mix side vegetables, We forewent wine this time, and plumped for a pint of lager each, was chilled to perfection along with a on the house large bottle iced lemon water,Made our visit such a pleasant experience, Will be back for surePhillip n Kath visited 27th June 22

Mahi Mahi in the peak district??? Oh my goodness the most fantastic fish dish I've had outside of Antigua. Friendly knowledgeable staff notably Steven the ownerAmazing coconut shrimp. Vegetarian burger and fish dishes, wish I was a local!

Visit here on Saturday (28th May) for the first time for my Mum's 60th Birthday. We were a group of 11 so we pre-ordered our food and paid a deposit. Unfortunately one of the meal choices we pre-ordered wasn't available but a member of staff informed us as soon as we arrived and the meal choice changed very easily.The food was very nice but we felt like the portions were a bit on the small size and slightly over priced.Lovely décor throughout. Friendly staff and excellent service from start to finish. Would recommend if you haven't visited yet.

Interesting menu, our food (catfish burger and veal steak) was superb, staff was friendly, the decor was pleasant and the prices reasonable - a lovely experience!

Great service from the waiters, fillet steak cooked to perfection, as was the kangaroo steak. Both meals served on hot plates which makes all the difference. If I had one complaint I would say the desert was a little on the large side. 😉 We did tackle it with 2 spoons, but 4 would of been better. Great first visit and definitely will be back.

We went as a couple for dinner, the starters were ok, the mains weren't the best the burger was dry and didn't match the description on the menu. The chips were more like roast potatoes. I would try other places before going back.

What a wonderful place to dine. The food is wonderful, the couple on the table next to us were so impressed they told us too. We ended up going to a Cocktail Bar Marden close by for a drink before going home. That doesn’t happen often, which shows the relax ambience of the establishment.Back to the review. We were met by a charming lady, we given the drinks menu & Gin list. We asked if the Wine waiter if he could fix us a traditional gin & tonic with a heavy juniper flavour & he did just that. The wine list was very comprehensive & we selected a beautiful white wine that compliment the meal.The menu stated that the meat was supplied by Geoff Mycocks from Buxton who is the finest butcher in Derbyshire & the one we use at home; so we knew we were in for a treat. We started with the Game Pate, Sarah had the duck & I had the pheasant. All dishes perfectly put together & clearly cooked with love. We did not feeling like a desert by our new friends for the table next to us had the most amazing sharing chocolate brownie with fruits & cream. Will be going back, the fish & vegetarian dishes looked fantastic, plus the other starters. We hope to try a desert as well, plus a liquor or two & there are plenty to select from. Need to explore the wine list more. Plus the other diners there we as charming as the restaurant itself. Showing just how loved this place is.Very close to the train station, with a taxi rank near by. The price of the dinner very fair indeed. Hunters chicken in a pub in Buxton £12 compared with a gourmet game dinner prepared by a Michelin Style chef £16 at Baileys. The later wins.

Really enjoyed our meal. Wine was good. Yummy lamb, best I've had in a while. Good menu choices. Game pie looked very good.
