Bulls Head Inn Restaurant in High Peak

Beautiful traditional pub. No car parking, but a short walk from a public car park. Service was okay, but did feel like the warning about just calling last orders as we walked in seemed a bit unwelcoming and could have been delivered a bit nicer.

Perfect location but poor service. They made you feel like you were a hinderence being there. Sat in the beer garden with our dog and food was being served in all areas. When we went to order food, they had stopped serving and we were told to try again in 45 minutes as it might be back on. When we went back we were told food was back on but only inside or part of the outside area where dogs weren't allowed.There were lots of people staying in the area with dogs so this rule made no sense. We left and went to another pub across the road (the George) which was far more welcoming and dog friendly.

Mid week visit so plenty of space. Staff were kind and friendly. Food was worth every penny. Hated to leave some but the portion was generous and each mouthful had wonderful flavours. Thank you for a lovely meal.

My wife has had to cancel our booking as I have just tested positive for Covid. We were given no opportunity to reschedule and she was told we would be liable for the full cost of two nights bed and breakfast. I realise this is a small family run business and the details are in the small print, but I do think for customer relations they may have compromised a little. We will be looking for alternative accommodation when we are both fit and able. Be careful when booking or avoid.

Be aware that if you just want a drink you have to have a seat. Just been turned away because non were available. Couldn’t even stand at the end of the bar. Booking required.Shame went in the day before a Friday and it was a great place. Understand they are working to covid rules but it looked quite.

Very busy (as usual) on an extremely windy Saturday, had a 15 minute wait for a table, the food, service food and drink was excellent. Everyone working there was very pleasant and friendly. Will happily recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. It was busy but they found space for us and made us feel very welcome. Food was delicious - it was our first time visiting but we will definitely be back!

Went to the Bulls Head twice over our weekend away, great location in Castleton and probably the best selection of beers. Really nice warming atmosphere and food looked good, however was a little on the cold side. Also had quite a rude interaction with one of the staff which did make us leave. Enjoyable beer though! Also did a cake and coffee for £4.50 which is good.

Only came in for food and drinks on a couple of occasions and food was delicious. The bar staff here were really friendly and polite.Massive thanks to Laurie (sorry if the spelling is wrong!) especially for helping us out when we were on our way home to catch the train last Friday, your help was really appreciated. The staff in this place are amazing, and really friendly. Thanks to the staff for making our visits so pleasant .This place is a gem, you should give it a try.

Travelled here from Cyprus for a week's stay the end of September amidst the Covid chaos. From the outset Helen provided my partner and I with peace of mind through excellent communication, both via phone and email for the booking confirmation. Our room was superb, cleaned everyday, tea/coffee etc replenished and the views were stunning. We can highly recommend the Full English, but note their are lighter options available. The staff are extremely helpful, very good choice of wines/spirits all reasonably priced. The food menu is varied and the Sunday Lunches are delicious. Highly recommend! We hope to see you in 2022.
