"Sam's Plaice".Visited Buxton and stopped for fish and chips.£19 for 2 fish and chips and a couple drinks. Wow. This must be good I thought. How wrong could I have been. Fish was full of Bones, had to stop eating before I choked to death. Chips were not much better, over cooked, last chips in the fryer look. Staff were cold and uninviting, would not go back again.

Nice staff but, pathetic food and prices. Had cod & chips, chips were like pencil shavings and fish was tiny and probably pollock. This with a baked potato with a spinkle of unseasoned lettuce plus 2 tastless weak coffees £20 ffs. While we were sat there, an old lady came back into the shop complaining the tiny tray of chips she'd just bought was getting worse the more she ate. Half way through, the chips just seemed to be tasteless dry scraps. Laughable.

Looks like the names changed since these reviews. Called in on a day in the peaks, had sausage bap plus egg bap and two coffees. Coffee, looked good but was awful. Tasteless sausage bap. Not cheap either....staff seemed polite on the plus point. Overall very disappointed.

One star is being kind and thats only because it looked ok from the outside. ordered 2 lots of fish and chips. May as well of had a glass of cooking oil with it. disgusting food. tables not cleared despite it not being busy. horrendous place avoid at all costs!!

Called in during our afternoon at buxton.Your typical average chippy good portion sizes and prices £4.50 kids meal with drinkI had small chips but portion was huge I couldn't finish it...

After shopping next door for a coat (great shop) I nipped in here for a chip sandwich. Wish I hadn't bothered. Uninterested staff, cold chips and very expensive. First poor experience of a business since moving to this great little town. Back to Chakra Lounge for me

The worst place I’ve ever eaten. Staff disinterested. Very slow service and they won’t bring food to your table. The food was insulting for the money. Cheap tasting, nasty, disgusting.

Dreadful overpriced chips with super salty grease (sold as gravy). They took ages to come and had the pleasure of watching a couple return their greasy fish and chips and just walk out barely touching it. Would of asked for a refund personally especially at the price they charge! Genuinely will say AVOID!

Shameless profiteering.Called here on 4th July 2021 and bought sausage, chips and curry sauce. The price was a mind boggling £5.00. To make matters worse when it arrived it was on small takeaway trays, the ones normally used for kids portions. Just finished now and people are still hungry.Absolute shambles, never EVER again. Fuming.

Don't bother! Paid way over the odds (£14) for 2 mini fish and chips - when I say mini I mean 2 x fish fingers and a dozen chips each. Served by staff who seemed to have contempt for all customers they dealt with. My order for take away was shouted from the counter when everyone was out of the shop and left on the side to go cold with no guide from the server as to where to collect it. The gentleman before me seemed to have put the staff out by asking for ketchup and napkins! 2 stars hopefully allows people to take this review seriously (and the food did taste nice after all).
