Excellent country pub, serving delicious meals , we had the sunday dinner , everything was perfectly cooked and hot , and tasted fresh . The service was spot on and the staff were fantastic.

We only visited for a week day evening meal. It was very quiet but the food was very tasty in particular the lasagne. Located in a lovely village, Tideswell.

A very cosy pub with real log fire, local ales, yummy food and delicious desserts. Thu night quiz was a lot of fun too.

We visited a few times whilst staying in a cottage just over the road found the staff to be friendly helpful and offer good customer service The pub itself has a cozy bar with open log fire which is regularly topped up and they have a changing selection of real ales as well as regular beers and lagers and many gin types The pub is frequented by locals walkers dog owners and tourists who are staying locally or in the pub itself They offer a wide variety of food on their menu although we didn't eat here others did Would strongly recommend a visit to experience it yourselves

Just had a really nice two night stay, accommodation was excellent, and the meals we had where the best pub food, that we have had in a long time, the steak we had in the second night were done exactly how we ordered them.

One of our local drinking pubs, always great real ale, great service and even better music 🎶 🎵 1st time eating and not disappointed. We will be back to try the homemade pies, lasagne and extensive Specials board.

A real friendly pub. Very good food, good portion sizes. Excellent selection of beers, ciders. Real log fire. We had a lovely 2 nights here. Comfortable beds. We will be returning in the new year, to get some more walks in the lovely Peak District

We stayed for 3 days in the week to get away from home. We traveled two hours. We requested a large room with a pullout sofa and when we got there the pullout sofa had no duvet or pillows we had to go down and ask and we was told “ you should have said you needed it” when we said on the phone and on the booking we needed it. When we Made the bed the mattress had stains and it was not comfortable at all you could feel the springs under the mattress. The floor was not clean at all had dog food under the sofa. The sink was dusty and not clean. The bedroom was large nothing wrong at all only problem you could hear the people coming out of the pub at night which wasn’t a huge issue and the blanket was not washed, it was covered in dirt and dog hair. The bathroom: was not clean at all, the shower didn’t have a cover where the water went down and a bottle cap and hair came out of it when we turned the water on. The toilet seat was broken and the sink was dirty! No hand towel to dry out hands. The bar was lovely at night nice young girl and man who took care of us on your first night but as it late more people came in.We felt unwelcome by the people around the village and not wanted.

Young inexperienced staff were very overwhelmed (I do appreciate that they seem to be having staffing issues). Most of the beer was unavailable. The food took ages to come and was disappointing for the price. The room was nicely decorated but the bathroom was dated and the whole place didn’t seem overly clean.
