Whilst short staffed, the chef was absolutely top notch even though he was clearly very busy. The steak we had in the evening was one of the best we've had. Breakfast was also great! The staff were tripping over themselves to make our stay comfortable, even though like the rest of the midlands right now, there were supply issues. Overall, we will defo be coming to stay again.

Location is very good, we stayed over night in thr camper. Pub is clean, cider and beer is cold and food was outstanding! The two members of staff we seen looked rushed off their feet in the evening as it got busier, they were not very happy or welcoming. But hey ho, will return and just enjoy the pub for being a pub.

I don’t usually take photos of my food but I made an exception when I saw the food here.Stumbled on this place when looking for the dam, we went in as it it’s free parking if your a customer. It was quite, when we went which made for a relaxing atmosphere. You find a table and then your order food at the bar with your table number. The food was very very good, unbelievably tasty. Both me and my partner said it was best pub food, personally preferred it to tan hill which we visited recently. My only fault is that they ran out of a lot of the choices very quickly.

Lovely old style pub, called in for a coffee after a cheeky night ride over snake pass 🐍 the woman behind the bar was lovely and made me a coffee with oat milk. Biker friendly and vegan friendly pub. Will definitely pop in again sometime :)

Called in for a drink on our VERY wet cycle ride received a warm friendly welcome. There's a large car park opposite ( pay & display) but this is Free for customers subject to conditions. As an added bonus you can stay in a campervan too "Brit Stop" style although the busy Main road may be a downside but the views are gorgeous.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Service was so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Food was excellent. Decor was lovely. Great location and rooms were nice and clean. Would definitely go back.

Unfortunately it was too busy. We had booked a table for half 1. I waited at the bar for 7 minutes with the bar staff pottering around before one of them finally spoke to me. I was sat down and advised not to order food for 15 minutes as the kitchen staff were very busy. Not a problem, can understand this. 15 minutes later we go up to order and are told the same thing, "we're not taking orders for 15 minutes". When I challenged the bar staff that they told us that 15 minutes ago, the reply I got was "Oh well".40 minutes after having arrived at the pub and meals still not ordered. We regretfully got up and walked out. The food being served looked delicious, maybe we'll try again next time, maybe we'll find better service at the Yorkshire Bridge.

Really nice place, great atmosphere and snug. I had Philly cheese steak and chips. The chips were very nice... Triple cooked ones! Then sticky toffee pudding and custard for afters, which was massive and delish!

After a lovely walk around the dam we had some lovely and delicious food. I chose the Steak & ale pie. I'm must say, it was the best pie I've ever had . That's not an exaggeration. Well done.

Good setting, that’s all that’s going for it, came at 5.30 on a Sunday, told to sit anywhere without reserved sign but given no menu or told we had to order at the bar. told only beef roast on, no fish atall, and no pies when tried to order and only 2 beers available on tap, really poor staff behind the bar who just kept walking into the kitchen even though there were only 2 others tables in the restaurant.
