Unexpected pleasure. Whilst passing through Buxton on the Motorbikes with a chum, spotted this place, very nice , warm welcome (despite the bikes, we still ask if we're allowed in).A quick cafe stop turned into a Lunch, on recommendation of another customer.A real treat, lovely food, good atmosphere and great staff !No hesitation in either a return visit, or recomendation to my Mum.

What a lovely bar/restaurant, the girl working the bar had created a warm welcoming and professional atmosphere straight away, highly recommended, lots of attention to detail to make this a go to venue 👍👍

Great food and drinks in a fabulous French atmosphere. We sat next to two mannequins, that were quite interesting! All in all, an enjoyable experience.

Well, what can one say about this lovely place? We were staying in a nearby hotel and not very interested in their evening restaurant menu, and for which they had no space anyway. So we were really fortunate to be looking for somewhere nice and classy to eat Buxton right close to the Devonshire Spa (within University of Derby Buxton Campus).Quite a few choices of eateries available, and I love authentic modern European, so we had a quick look at the menu on the window and thought, yes - let's try it.We were lucky to be the last table for two available that night, and saw many turned away or squeezed into the bar dining area. The food was great and what I hoped for.Lovely, fresh, well-prepared, and accompanied by some lovely wines. I was persuaded by the Monsieur to go for the Syrah - "the best" they could offer, and was not disappointed.Service was good, we were well looked after. Food was fantastic and authentic - exactly what we were after.Very enjoyable experience and would heartily recommend.NB - look out for the mannequins that occupy two seats at a table in the restaurant - they are apparently famous and have appeared on numerous news programmes. Quite why the proprietor prefers to have them occupy a revenue-generating space is beyond me, but that is why the French are so lovely and entertaining - "je ne sais quoi".

Highly recommend this French restaurant - small family business with great food and bar. The owner Jerry will welcome you with open arms!

We went to the restaurant for lunch in a group of 5 (we made reservations before hand). The menu is very appealing with several options that seems delicious. The onion soup was very good but the main dishes were below average, the salmon pesto was very dry and over baked and the croque salmon was very salty. The desserts were also bad, the tarte tatin had a very strong taste of butter (excessive) and the mousse was frozen and with no mousse texture at all. Not sure if we got unlucky because we went for late lunch.

Delicious menu. Lovely staff. Perfect building and location. Quirky interior. Not offensively French but very charming. The salmon main is to die for! Best authenticaly french restaurant around!

Was very busy on our visit. But they did their best to explain the menu, and apologise for the long wait. Steak was a bit overdone but put that down to the busy night and that made up for it with everything else. Great dessert, will come back again soon .
