Went for hot chocolate and cake with my daughter and her friend a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely lovely. Hot chocolate was amazing, cake unbelievably good and the staff were amazing. It was busy but got a table quickly. Was lovely and clean as well even though so busy. Well worth waiting for a table.

We used to visit this bookstore a lot before lockdown. Good range of books and a small cafe. They have upgraded and have a good looking menu. Books still great and they have put in more comfy chairs - lovely to browse books. Some attractive craft and jewellery on sale too. Well worth a visit.

What a treasure of a place this is.From the outside it looks like an industrial building, but don't be fooled, it's quite a gem inside..Quite far from your old school dusty book room, this is a modern organised range of books.Easy to find as all sections have signs..Most books are also below RRP.It also does lots of trinkets from candles to mugs.Lots of parking outside.Toilets available.Seating area.A cafe, with outside seating. The cafe itself is even worth a visit , and gets extremely busy with people queuing for a table.I can fully recommend the hot chocolate...

I feel compelled to list a review of the bookstore after seeing the bad review from one customer. We love the bookstore, visiting regularly for a peaceful look at the books followed by good food and good coffee as a weekend treat. The staff are always fantastic and helpful and the food is lovely....in fact your mushroom soup is the only one I've tried that I love and the cakes are gorgeous!!. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone (and we do)...and as a side note, the fact the owners have investigated the complaint so thoroughly goes to show the high level of customer service we've always seen here. Keep up the good work.

I return here time and time again, preferring to drive out of town than to walk into the center, its that good!Coffee is delicious, food is amazing.....go early for the quiche of the day as it always sells out! And the book/gift store is above and beyond. I have family visit from Salisbury, and they never go home without a visit here! The staff are so friendly and happy to accommodate anybody, and do so daily with a smileGo, simple! You won't be disappointed

I saw a dreadful review and whilst I appreciate that sometimes things don't work for people, I don't recognise the place I have visited regularly for years, it used to be just a great place for discounted books but in recent years so much work has been done to offer more, it's wonderful. The cafe is very popular because the food is excellent and freshly prepared, it's not always possible to get a table but that's a good indicator of how lovely it is. The ever changing range of books, stationery and gifts are always an adventure and it's one of my favourite places to visit. I especially enjoy the support they give to local artists and makers I don't buy cards from anywhere else. The staff are helpful, friendly. I recommend it to everyone.

Living in the Netherlands, whenever we go to England and we're remotely in the area a visit to the High Peak Bookstore is on top of my priorities list. Great choice, good prices, friendly staff and lovely food. I'm already looking forward to the next opportunity to shop there.

Popped in on a rainy day but stayed for ages because it was so good. Fantastic selection of books and gifts at great prices. Dog was able to come in and peruse the science section with me. Kids were glued to books in the children's corner and we ended up buying 11 books! Didn't even try the cafe but it smelled awesome and the menu looked comprehensive.

Lovely country book store with attached cafe. Assorted meals and drinks reasonable priced. The book side caters for most subjects I can think of, with a good selection of books in sale. Also has a craft section, I thought that side of it was a bit expensive, but they are very good items.

Great Bookstore in Buxton, beautiful decor big variety of books, crafts, cards, bags jewelry.. list can just go on and on. You can definitely spend several hours in this store as there is also wonderful caffe place where you can have breakfast, lunch and afternoon coffee with nice cakes. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone including to families with little bookworms. 🐛📚
