Taj Mahal in High Peak

A good Indian restaurant with a diverse menu, been a dozen or more times in the last few years. Good food good service.

Very quiet, staff very attentive and offered recommendations when prompted. Decent house wine.

So so in my opinion. If I was to base my review in my most recent visit it would be 2 stars due to the fact that the food arrived in 3 minutes and the staff closed the restaurant early despite being stated as open until 10pm on google. It was clear they just wanted to close early because I was the only customer. Not the greatest food this time but it was edible. On previous visits this restaurant has been fine and worthy of 4 stars. Just not this time as I was rushed and made to even drink my pint of beer quickly that I had not long since purchased. Left at 9pm and will try other restaurants in Buxton before returning here.I have since returned with a much better experience. Even though my friend and myself were the only people in the restaurant, they took had on board my previous comments and did not try to rush us out of the door. The food was excellent so I have uprated my review back to 5 star.Sticking to advertised opening hours is important for people who are often on the road and using online information for planning. I hope to return here when I am next in Buxton.

Shame Google doesn't offer the option to give a zero star rating. Ordered from this restaurant many times in the past. This is the last time. As a vegetarian I find it offensive to get home and discover the chef has got my order mixed up and included meat in items that I specifically requested be meat free. Vegetarians should find another restaurant if they fancy a curry..

Very unreliable place called tonight at 2130 for a takeaway but was told they was closed but clearly states on web site shuts at 2200 very poor service if only they had listened instead of just putting the phone down on me as to when I wanted to place the takeaway order for and how much I was going to order my estimate was about £400-£500 for a party but there loss won't bother them again in the future businesses like these deserve to go under!!!!!!!!

What a brilliant restaurant 😀Had a meal on our first day of our holiday was so good re booked for two days later.The curries were very tasty, the rice too and the homemade Garlic Nan bread was perfect.The staff were very friendly and helpful.Well done everyone 🙂🙂

Had a pleasant meal here. Not great but OK. Service was very good and fast. Food was quite tasty and spicy.

We had dinner at the Taj Mahal last night and it was spot on !Lamb chop starters , followed by garlic chilli chicken , lamb karahi accompanied with garlic naan breads and a couple of cold beers.The interior decor is modern & bright and I wish the staff were as all of them looked quite glum.... however the food more than made up for this as it was superb and portion sizes quite generous.I would definitely return so have no hesitation in recommending.

The curry I had was great, and the staff were very quick and efficient. I did think the portion size of the rice was a bit small, but I was hungry, and the food was very good

Hello there people of the reviewing world :pToday I will be reviewing the TAJ MAHAL :-)This place has AMAZING nam bread and LOVELY currys. And I haven't mentioned the the chickrn tikka!!! WOWZA!! BEST I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! EVER XDAt the back of the restaurant there wasthis Lovley wooden bubbly peacy place! It had an amazing bubble thing at the back which is AMAZINGG!! (THERE IS A PIC)The was only two bad things:1. At the back (the lovely wooden bubbly peacy place) there was AMAZING cobwebs that could be full of spiders! Like come on man they could BITE MY LEG OFF IN ONE BITE!!!! LIKE WHAT!!2. I orded the Ferrero Rocher ice cream and look at the pic below or above or at the left or at the right. Like the chocolate ball has fallen down to the side!! GOSH!!! ANNNNNNNDDDDDAll of the ice cream was together like in the pic it was not! Like come on man (oops I already said that...OH WELL)THATS ALL FOLKS SEE YA NEXT TIME XDGoodbye :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))P.s: Soz that you can't see the cobwebs!
