CLOSED all day on Monday and Tuesday. I'm not sure why. The food is good. Basic but high end. I don't know who drives to the middle of nowhere to spend £28 on a stake. While we were there all the passing trade was groups of motorbikes and cyclists. I would have thought that more chilli and baked spuds would have pulled them in but what do I know. Anyway, it's really quiet . The beer is passable.

We popped in for a Friday lunch. We couldn't have been made more welcome. We were expecting bog standard pub grub, but the meal was far from that.We eat out a lot, but this was by far the best meal we have had in many, many years. Ian had the beef and ale pie. The meat melted in your mouth. No chewy bits or gristle. The sauce was flavoursome and peppery. The pasta on top was thin, leaving room for plenty of filling. Absolutely delicious.I went for the vegetarian option, avocado, tomato and pepper sandwich with vegetable crisps and salad. (I did have to put my napkin down my front as the tomatoes made it drippy, but tbh, I would spill toast down my front!). It was really tasty. I always judge a kitchen by the side salad. This was cut up finely, flavoured with herbs and onion and was simply perfect. The portions were huge and the prices were, we thought, very reasonable for such an impressive meal 😊

This is actually The Bulls Head, not the Bull. We popped in at 5pm and asked if they could fit us in..... Lovely reception and they made us promise to be out by 7.30! So glad they did make room for us. Firstly the service was way beyond what you might expect in a country pub. This place is definitely a cut above a 'pub' and the prices reflect that. Starters around £8-9, mains £16+. I had a lovely rabbit terrine starter and a sausage trio main. My wife had a lamb burger. This turned out to be quite hotly spiced but we shuffled our mains around and all turned out well. The bill was £50 for 2 for 1 starter, 2 mains and 3 drinks. Very nice indeed.

We are staying at cruck barn and based on the exceptional accommodation we took a chance and booked to eat with friends. We were met by lovely Friendly staff and felt at ease immediately, the manager and 2 young lads were fantastic, so professional but relaxed. The food was perfectly cooked, generous portion and reasonable price. 3.5 hours flew by.If you're in the area give it a go you won't be disappointed. Well done guys you have 4 new fans!

Are you looking for a warm and cozy countryside pub? Then I highly recommend you to visit The Bull at Foolow. We went on Saturday for lunch, it was snowing and it felt like we were in a film, in a picturesque village in the middle of nowhere 😍 I not only enjoyed the pub itself but also the food. We ordered pie of the day, very delicious taste. I would give it a 7/10 because it felt there was space to add more beef to the stew. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. My friends ordered soup of the day (they said it was DELICIOUS) 10/10, risotto 5/10 and the beef burger which they said it was very nice.So to conclude, the food was good and the place was so special. The staff was also very nice.

After a weekend at the Peak District, we popped in for a lunch at The Bull. Being a Sunday afternoon, the place was packed but the staff got us seated in a minute and even got a high chair for our little one.We had the pork & beef roasts as well as a couple of different desserts. Must say this was one of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had - beef was cooked to perfection, the Yorkshire pudding was lovely and the ginger pudding with ice cream which the host recommended was just yum!On top of the great food, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome - The team was gracious enough to accept an off-the-menu order for our toddler.Shame the place is a 3 hour drive for me :)

Cannot fault this place! We've had a perfect weekend at The Bull in Foolow. We got such a friendly welcome from the staff and they couldn't have been more helpful. A beautiful country pub in a picturesque setting. The room we stayed in was lovely. It was warm , cosy and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed for dinner both evenings and could not fault the food, it was all simply delicious! Certainly not your average pub food! Breakfast was continental and was lovely, everything you could want. The homemade granola bars are divine, a MUST to try! The only down side is having to go home! But we will most definitely be back! Many thanks to the team for our lovely weekend x

Fantastic place, called on the off chance after our first lunch place wasn't suitable. This pub was heaven sent, the staff were so friendly and the food first class. It was Christmas Eve so we weren't even sure we would get a sandwich let alone a superb meal. I would definitely recommend especially for the lovely staff.
