Lovely friendly pub bang in the heart of buxton. We stayed here in our motorhome over night in the car park foc.Although the vegan menu options were limited the chef Stephen went out of his way to make us a vegan meal. Going out to buy ingredients just for us!All the staff are lovely and friendly and made our stay memorable.

Thought we'd found a nice place for lunch, served at the bar by who I believe was the landlord, who appeared to be annoyed & inconvenienced by me ordering a tea on a warm day...?(if you sold the diet coke I wanted, wouldn't of had to make the tea which was such an issue)Then again over an hour later when asked where our food order was, to which I was told, "sorry it never went to the kitchen, don't know what happened there...?" (Well you served me pal so you should) then I asked for a refund as I was disappointed, apparently not as much as him it seems, as he told me we'll have it in a few minutes, (should of had it an hour ago mate with a better, friendlier attitude) then you wouldn't have this negative review...

Nice beer, but the ham, cheese and chutney sandwich I ordered for lunch was insubstantial, to say the least. The photo shows the sprinkling of ham 'bits', cheese gratings and chutney it contained (and my bite mark!) and the size compared to the salad garnish. What there was, was tasty enough though. My companion's Carrot and Coriander soup turned out to be Broccoli and Stilton when that arrived too, but she's not a vegan and was hungry and content enough with it.Other people may not have taken the member of staff's suggestion to buy a dessert, when I replied to their enquiry as to how my lunch was, in the spirit I did though.

Lovely venue. Honest pub grub with a nice twist. Lovely range of beer too. Friendly service with a smile

·

Nice pub with good selection of beers and cider. Food was ok we only had cheesy chips so can't really comment on the quality of the food. Staff nice and friendly and helpful with knowledge of beers.

·

Lovely traditional pub on the high street. Very comfortable and a great real ale pub with Titanic Ales plus guests.

We popped here on a recommendation and it's an extremely cosy pub with a good drink selection and what appeared to be really tasty food. I can't speak from experience because I didn't try any but they do have vegan options, including vegan fish and chips with banana blossom. If we're back in Buxton soon, I'll pop in for lunch! If it looks quiet in the photograph, it's because it was. We went on a Wednesday night at around 9pm.

A beautiful little pub located in the heart of a beautiful little town . The staff was great and the food was amazing. Though we didn't order any mains the sides were worth the go. The staff wore PPE and restaurant was well maintained. The food took ages to arrive, probably due to the timing we went. But for starters it was definitely a long wait. The food was worth the amount and couldn't ask for more. Would recommend this pub to anyone looking forward for a simple yet enjoyable pub experience .

Their bacon and cheese burger was incredible, one of the nicest burgers I'd ever had. Cheesy chips is great to go along with it. The chicken in their chicken burger was the best chicken we'd ever had. Hats off to the place.
