The Chippy of Chinley in High Peak

Under new ownership and sadly not as good as it used to be. The fish was dry with mediocre batter and the chips were soggy. Previously the fish and chips were fresh and crisp, it would be great if it could get back up to its previous standard as it was a real asset to the village

Food tasted alright but was spoiled by the offhand attitude of the serving staff and being short-changed. We won’t be back

We went to the chippy by bicycle on a Friday evening (we were camping locally) and the staff were lovely, offered to put us a table and chairs outside, provided metal cutlery. The "small" portions of chips were generous too!

We are so lucky to have in our Village. Proper Fish and Chips made how they should be. Very friendly service plus, handy you can order for collection and collect when you want. Good size portions and very reasonable price.

Friendly and prompt service. There was no singing, as referenced in the other reviews, but that did not detract from the visit. Reasonably priced food that's cooked to a good standard. The portion sizes seemed normal to me. If you're near to Chinley and would like fish & chips then I'd recommend that you pay a visit.
