Good place to stop and have a drink. Great views over the valley and lots of outdoor seating. Reasonable size car park, but clearly on a popular cycle route. Fair selection of beers, well kept. Food is ok. Does the job

A very friendly welcome and the dining area is very smart having been recently refurbished. Fabulous views from the garden and terrace. Local beer and prior pub grub. Many items on the menu available as small portions. Limited choice of vegetarian options but my wife said the vegetable curry was excellent. I had steak pie which had a generous filling of tender steak. Leave room for sponge pudding and custard!

Had a decent walk and then a drink here. A lot of spaces outside which would be ideal in the summer. One of the staff delivered a fish finger sandwich to the table nearby and it looked OK.

Just popped in for drinks so can't speak for the food (although it smelt and looked amazing!) But the atmosphere was great, it's a lovely pub with amazing Peak District views. The team were friendly and helpful, and our quick visit there was really lovely. Definitely would want to come here to eat sometime.

Great location for lunch/dinner when out walking Cubar/White Edge. The food was OK but not great. Service was slow but they were clearly short staffed. I'll go back but next time I'm hoping my pie crust won't have a piece of paper in it. The wife's fish and chips was delicious apparently. Could do better.

Had one of my best pub Sunday roasts in years. Beef was lean, plenty of vegetables, Yorkshire pudding was great and the gravy was amazing. My wife said it was the best gravy she had ever tasted. She had the home made steak pie, which used the same gravy base. Amazing. It would have been too good to be true if the puddings were as world class as the mains. Enjoyable though they were. Top marks!

A warm welcoming pub, the meals were lovely and although we had ordered the small portions they were still quite substantial. I'm sure if we had been on a long walk we could have tackled the large portions. The staff are friendly and its good to go to pub where all are welcome including children and well behaved dogs even when they've been on a winter walk. Would definitely recommend

Delicious bangers and mash in a proper Peak District pub. The real fires and olde worlde decor add a lovely ambience. Its a great place to stop after a walk.

I absolutely love this pub. My husband has been going here since he was a child. I take him for steak pie on his birthday. He's 52 today and we will be here tonight like we have been for the past 17 years.I highly recommend this place. Its a home from home.

Perfect place to stop for a drink after your hike. Gorgeous scenery and a lovely, cosy building. Haven't tried the food yet but it looked amazing and I'm planning to go back!
