Lovely place near Buxton, decor is wonderful something really different. Had Sunday dinner here with my family, the food was great and very good value. I'm a little in love with the home made cheese cake and will definitely be back to try more!

We were driving back from Alton towers when we came across this lovely looking pub. We were delighted to be able to get a table, and had an absolutely wonderful meal. The staff were all lovely and the food was top notch (please excuse my odd bunless burger!) to boot! All in all it was a great place to stop and I look forward to stopping here again on my next trip to the Peak district.

Lovely atmosphere inside and I really like its quirky/medieval design, all set in a beautiful location. Have only ever had a Sunday dinner there but for has always been spot on and always have good ales at the bar. Definitely somewhere you need to book if you want a table as they're so busy but you certainly don't have to wait long for food. Homemade desserts are fantastic and I'm not usually much of a dessert eater!

Can really recommend this pub, visited as a family of 10 for my parents Golden Wedding, we had a small room to ourselves. The food was fantastic with a great choice on the menu. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Cant believe we haven't visited before.

What a lovely team. The service was really personal. Such polite and helpful staff. It was a very relaxing experience. The food was good. We chose the Carvery which did include a free dessert but we opted for the normal dessert menu. I will definitely return.

This place is so special and different. Service was great and food was excellent. The portion are huge and I was forcing myself to finish the food, because it was too good. Great options of drinks (hot and cold) and desserts. It's such a lovely ride to get there, why not stop?

Really nice pub. The lady behind the bar was very friendly and accommodating when we wandered round the bar looking for the perfect seats.Very authentic and lots to look at in the pub. Even the music was on theme. We tried the beers, which were good and ate the good which again was good.A really nice place to stop in and it has a great patio out the back with a wonderful view of the scenery. It was raining when we came and maybe that's cost the pub a star but was definitely not their fault

We went as a party of 5 for mother's day. 3 courses for just below £11 I think it was. I had cauliflower cheese and stilton soup, and my boyfriend had vegetable soup, both tasted incredible! Large portion as well! We all had roast dinners, every slice of meat was tender, and everything that was served with it was up to scratch! For desert, there was a variety of options. My boyfriend and my brother had Bailey's cheesecake, which looked and tasted very delicious (wish I'd chosen this now!) My brother's was portion was very big, whilst my boyfriend's portion was extremely small, a huge difference in quantity! I chose raspberry (or strawberry, can't remember which one it was) cheesecake, it looked great and was presented well (I loved the miniature pouring pot that had cream in it), unfortunately, the meringue they used had a very strong smell to it, it smelt like a dog had pissed all over it. This put me off eating it, apart from that, the cheesecake tasted delicious, would not have it again though. I would definitely go there for food again :) (not for the desert I had though!) highly recommend trying it out! :)
