The Oakwood in High Peak

A great atmosphere, friendly staff and lovely food. What more could you want....also if you get a chance I'd suggest spending your time out in the beer garden

It was nice to see vegan options on the menu and lovely to see oyster mushrooms, rather than fake meats. How ever I feel the meals were very pricey compared to other pubs/restaurants close by. For example the vegan pizza was super basic but still cosy quite a but. It was also very busy and I felt like the staff were not very helpful/informative, Although could have been due to being so busy.

Some lovely choices on the menu such as salads, tacos, kebabs and wraps as well regular favourites of pizzas and burgers. They have a good variety of craft beer here too all set in attractive spacious rooms.On the day of our visit the meals were served by the fastest waitress in Glossop. She literally ran to the tables with the dishes!

Have lived in the area for 6 years and never been in.... big mistake! Went in for the first time this week with my hubby for lunch. It was one of the best pub lunches I've had in a long time. The chicken kebab was delicious. Great service and atmosphere too. Will definitely go back.

Had the Vietnamese fries and crispy King prawns. The most flavoursome meal I've ever had. Absolutely marvellous. A wonderful experience. "I'll be back"

This was a great local pub, good food, live music. It's lost it's heart and vibe...probably to Covid. The classic burger was tasteless the drink had too much ice which I didn't ask for and they're not accepting legal tender ie cash. I won't be going back, it's too sad.

I love coming to the Oakwood. It’s always a nice atmosphere with really great staff and delicious food for vegans and vegetarians! I ordered the truffle pizza and swapped the ham for red onions- done without a fuss and it was delicious! I’m also a BF Mama and I’m happy that it was a comfortable environment to bring my baby 😊

What a wonderful random find! They have great veggie options (speaking as a non-veggie, they all sounded - and tasted - really appealing!), and not your usual boring options either! I tried the southern fried oyster mushrooms and Vietnamese fries - the former was satisfyingly crunchy outside and juicy inside, while the latter punched quite a spicy kick from the sriracha but was nonetheless delicious.

A evening midweek meal with a friend was made extra special sitting in the beautiful evening sun ,great sitting and felt relaxed. Cocktail x2 "Bates " was for a change a great size and MMM MM MMM , Menu was to all palettes..and size justice for the £40 wrap/more Bates ..@2 people was fair for the quality..Great style and ingredients and menu ideas , I lost who the cooked that night but girl the girl a clap..great team ,and ta to the chap who left his lighter for me !
