The Rambler is such a lovely traditional pub. After a long day walking round the dark peak, there is nowhere better to go for a drink and a bite to eat. The staff are super friendly and there is a great selection of food and drink. Everything is very reasonably priced and good quality. If you're ever in Edale it's definitely worth dropping in for refreshments.

Lovely and convenient place to drop into, especially when hungry after a long hike in the peaks. Ample space to sit inside and outside. They have their own parking spaces and have a few rooms on offer if you need to stay over night. They got good beers and a typical English menu, from Roast dinner (Sundays) to pies to fish and ships. We've had the bangers and mash and they were excellent!Definitely recommended.

Great walkers pub, don't expect gourmet food, but you will get a nice filling meal at a reasonable price.Friendly helpful staff and nice rooms . Loads of hot water, but the water pressure is a bit low for the showers.Otherwise highly recommended.

Lovely country pub in the heart of Edale. Friendly staff, we were lucky to have the fire on which is lovely after long walk in freezing fresh air. Clean and tidy with nice atmosphere. Only had drinks so couldn't comment on the food.

As a country pub and watering hole for country walkers it doesn't get much better. Excellent range of hand pumped beers as well as usual lagers. Great pub menu with plenty on your plate and great service. In winter with a roaring fire to get you warm. In summer with a large beer garden to kick back and enjoy the rays and the beer after a long day out on the hill. Recommended.

We stopped here after a walk around Mam Tor and it was brilliant. Lovely warm and cozy atmosphere, dog friendly. Big car park and rooms on site. The staff were very friendly, the food was great and the prices were decent for the quality. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Super busy when we arrived after a walk although the car park looked empty.Don't need to book it's just a case of turn up and wait for a table and it wasn't long until we were all sat down, coffee tea and beer served at the bar with some delicious flapjacks and rocky road in fabulous slab sized pieces. Happy smiling welcome from the bar staff as we arrived.Didn't eat today but the food coming out looked fantastic, prices from around £13 per main, we would have stayed for food if we had more time and I will be returning shortly with the family to eat. The tables are well laid out and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The ladies toilets are a little snug but very well kept and managed a successful waterproof trousers removal dance!

Have visited twice recently and we really love the atmosphere of this place. The food has been incredible both times (just what was needed after a long day hiking the hills). The staff couldn't be more friendly and even gave my dog some treats. Much less busy in winter than other local areas if you want to escape the crowds of Castleton but it is also only a short distance away and has its own car park on site (it's also at the foot of Kinder Scout). The outdoor garden is huge and looks like it would be amazing in summer. Most important of all though it is dog friendly! They said even my huge German shepherd boy wasn't the biggest dog they had seen come in. When you're a solo hiker (+dog) these kind of places are so important as I really don't like leaving my boy in the car. Thank you for a lovely experience and hope to see you again soon!

Really friendly staff. Beautiful location. Only negative is there not being more plant based items on food menu but that’s a regular struggle for me. Staff did go out of their way to feed me some chips and gravy though which was enjoyed.Pic: lovely view from our room.
