The Refreshment Room in High Peak

Small cafe with limited selection and quite expensive. Fascinating old railway station along the Monsal Trail, with other routes into the Dales too. Nice to sit on the old platform, see the old lime kilns and look over the edge of the bridge.

As expensive as most tourist traps. Beware, if you pick the wrong item on the menu you won't be allowed to eat inside the restaurant. The chip butty I had was dry with no butter, I should have complained but couldn't be bothered. Just get a coffee and cake.

Great food. Not the cheapest, but quality and presentation made up for it.

A lovely place to stop. The staff are cheery and helpful. The menu has a good choice. Losts of gluten free options. A great place to stop and refuel

Good place to stop off along the Monsal Trail. Big portions of tray bakes - recommend the date slice!

A cafe at Millers Dale station on the Monsal trail. Seating inside and outside. Range of drinks, cakes, hot and cold food. Car parking and toilets are available at the station. Nice place to stop if cycling is walking g the Monsal Trail.

Polite staff. Good range is lunch options. Reasonably priced. Nice and warm on a cold day. Clean and pleasantly decorated with nice references to is railway heritage.

The cafe is popular due to it being on the Monsal Dale. The day we visited the cafe was only taking cash. In a time when people are not using cash but cards to reduce the chance of a Covid infection I was surprised. Also I do not carry cash any longer. Fortunately someone else had cash.When we went into order the girl behind the till was looking at her phone. She totally ignored us and did not know we were there. It was not until 3 minutes later when I asked if they were still serving food that she answered me. She did not apology for not seeing us. She took the order.The drinks were priced reasonably. The food was a bit expensive. The food was OK. The quality of the food could be better.The staff need to improve their customer service skills. The only reason they get away with the service they offer is they have a captive audience.

Fantastic cheesey chips, loads of cheese and chips are well cooked.Coffee was good and prices are reasonable.

Stopped here on a wet and windy day in February 2020. Warm welcome from the staff as we entered even though we looked sodden and had our muddy dog with us. Food was excellent quality, good value and served promptly. The old station rooms look recently decorated and are full of interest. Really glad we stopped here on the Monsal Trail!
