Ellen Louisa’s was recommended by a fried so, a friendship was at stake! But no worries at all. The overall experience was superb, ordering a Gentleman’s afternoon tea was simple, it was delivered to our home at the time offered. The presentation was exceptional. So, down to actually eating it. All was so fresh, it was so enjoyable.Nice one Ellen Louisa Tea Rooms.

An amazing tea room.We found this by accident and very glad we did.Tables all set up with proper china plates, tea cups, coffee and tea pots. All very pretty. The afternoon tea looked fantastic, huge pieces of cake. We had scones which were homemade and delicious.Staff were friendly and the uniform was brilliant.Thoroughly recommend

As soon as we arrived for Mothers Day Afternoon Tea, it was clear they had massively overbooked. They stuck our table in the front doorway, and the table wasn't even ready when we arrived. My mother (who was on crutches) had to stand and wait until they had finished setting it up.The place was so full that the poor waitresses couldn't even move around the place, and a person from our table and the table next to us had to keep getting up to let people past. In addition, our table had been put right in front of the only toilet, which wasn't accessible without two members of our party getting up and moving away. The room was ridiculously cramped - I'm not sure I would have felt comfortable being at the back of the room, as there was no easy way out in an emergency. The food was very average, but they had a singer who was very good. The only downside of the singer (which was not her fault at all) was that she was placed right behind our table (she was practically outside the front door, the poor girl) so we couldn't even have a conversation on the table because it was so loud. Again, this was clearly as a result of the overbooking. When we had finished, we went to pay and explained to the Manager about our negative experience. Her attitude was appalling! She was very rude and she didn't apologise at all, and simply said that we should have called beforehand if we required more space. Anyone could see that the table needed more space, when we're having to continuously stand up to let people past the table! All she had to do was apologise and admit that she had overbooked, and we would accepted this. It's safe to say we won't be returning to Ellen Louisa's Vintage Teas again, and we'll be telling plenty of people about our experience.
