Shilton Fish Bar and Restaurant in Hinckley and Bosworth

We have had fish and chips a couple of times and they are delicious.

Lovely friendly staff and tasty veggie burgers and chips. We also enjoyed the pineapple fritters. Was nice to be able to eat in too.

Food is ALWAYS 10/10 been ordering from here for over a year now and never had an issue. Highly recommend!

Discussing attitude towards myself after ordering 2 extra large pizzas. Gave me 3 different prices and delivery drivers attitude was disgusting aswell. I was called a d*ckh*ad over the phone aswell after putting in a complaint and bringing up these issues to the person on the phone who claimed to be the manager. Its OK all calls are recorded my end. Will not be ordering from this place again

This is our local, there are a couple chip shops in Earl Shilton but personally I feel this one is the best!!Staff are always friendly and smiling and the food is always perfect and doesn’t cost the earth!Will continue to have chippy night from here

I always collect my takeaway. Fish is usually cooked to order and is delicious. Chips normally wonderful but can be variable in quality. Overall very satisfied.

Was the worst meal of my life, delivery man never knocked on the door he just left it there. Food was stone cold. Wrap was soggy and my milkshake was spilt all in the bag. Blue cheese sauce tasted like sick and the garlic Mayo was overpowered with garlic giving me heartburn and indigestion with a horrible after taste. We order pineapple fritters for pudding and they said it came with syrup, there was no syrup it was wrapped in paper and was dry with no taste. Was a waste of money and I will never order from there again. If you want a decent meal go to Ali Baba’s at least you get what you ask for.

Finally found a good place to get fish, chips and curry sauce like they do up north. I was starting to think that I was never going to get a decent fish and chips takeaway after moving to Leicestershire. So glad we found here. Huge portions though. One fish and chips would have done the both of us. I'll know for next time.

Looking at other comments, let me just state that I have eaten in this establishment many times, and NOT ONCE have I had greasy chips, as complained about by one malcontent. Truth to tell ... the fish has always been utterly delicious, and very fresh; the batter is incredibly light and crispy; and I can say with hand-on-heart that I have had no better or tastier fish at any other sit-in fried-fish establishment. The price is very reasonable; the staff invariably friendly; the coffee is okay, not brilliant; the place has always been spotlessly clean. I cannot really rate it highly enough. I have paid a great deal more in rather upmarket restaurants and had fish that was not a patch on that sold here. I always have the sane order; the large haddock and chips. And it is invariably utterly delicious, and never, ever greasy.
