The Black Horse in Hinckley and Bosworth

My experience at eating at this venue will not be repeated. The food although looking very pretty on the plate had very little taste. I had the halibut served with king prawn on a bed of pommel puree with buttered leeks and a lobster bisque.The halibut was the best thing on the plate but was very small. The King prawns served in their shell were swimming in the bisque which had no discernable flavour of lobster, were so hot and overcooked that when eventually removed the shell were chewy and like rubber. The pomme puree tasted very much like powdered potato (for those that remember Smash, that's what it tasted like)I had had no idea there were leeks on the plate. All in all very disappointing

Don’t book on a bank holiday - really bad experience on Xmas eve when they clearly over booked, left us outside for 50 minutes with my parents who are in their 80s. A very curt front of house female who wasn’t coping well. They called me on the morning of the booking to check we were definitely coming but made no difference to our booking as we were kept waiting and waiting. Don’t bother leaving a review when they ask for feedback and don’t email them - they don’t respond. Food was good - shame they can’t cope when it’s busy. Hate leaving negative comments as it’s obviously been a bad time for the industry but to not even respond is one step too far for me to consider returning

Great food and choice. Nice decor that if you want to buy you can, that's a first for me! Finally but not least we found the staff to be very knowledgable and couldn't do enough to make our meal special.

Love this beautiful place. Hadn't been for ages.due to lockdown etc. Then went twice in.a week once for lunch with our amazing friend to celebrate my birthday then the following Saturday for lunch with my work friends. Food and atmosphere excellent. Can't wait to visit again soon xxx

Lovely Sunday Roast. Booked online for 2 people for Sunday lunch. Really friendly service from staff. Food was really well cooked and extremely tasty. Excellent roast potatoes and parsnips. Cheesecake was a perfect ending to the meal, very tasty and filling, the salted caramel sauce was great. Clean, has good toilets and car park at rear of the building. Definitely will be going back.

Beautiful old pub and restaurant, the staff were all really friendly and even though they were busy they found us a table. The food was really good, the burger is amazing, well presented, great portion size. Very clean and tidy restaurant and all covid secure. I would highly recommend a visit
