the Rising sun in Hinckley and Bosworth

We we went for Sunday lunch. Only a choice 3 things as they had already ran out of 2 others. Food was good but not worth the hour wait.Friendly waiting staff. The senior staff looked grumpy and weren't very friendly.

Staff were friendly yet the shared fish and chips platter wasn't all too great, got soggy after while. It's a nice, traditional English idea to serve fish in a basket with paper but it's not the most practical for taste or seasoning? Just an idea. A local pub, and a sturdy one at that - probably more suited to serving ale than food though.

I’m well travelled, and can honestly say that I had one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had here!After a walk by the canal, I took refuge at the Rising Sun on a drizzly late autumn Friday afternoon, warming up with a nice pint of ale. Learnt to my glee that there would be stone baked pizzas after five o’clock. Had the veggie (goats cheese, caramelised onions, chutney, rocket etc), which the rest of the pub whiffed jealously, with several people following suit. Great, welcoming little pub, near the canal. Worth a stop!

My last 2020 & 21 CAMRA Good Beer Guide entry completed successfully, and two well kept pints (Proper Job, and the excellent Marstons Pedigree).Friendly and convivial landlord, Simon, (see photo). Well worth the trip. Good walking location being near the Ashby Canal, with a bus stop very close by linking to Atherstone.

This is possibly the coziest and most beautiful place I have ever eaten. I spent most of the dinner planning my dream house with my friend based on the barn area. The food tastes magnificent, looks lovely and come in very generous portions. The bar area is stylised in a way I thought long lost to pubs, giving me hot fuzz vibes as I wandered in. I would love to come back, may be even work for free just to be on the peaceful loving environment, with friendly staff and spacious surroundings

Fell across this pub after visiting the Bosworth railway. It was lunchtime, so no food. Good beer. Friendly staff and locals who included us. Decided to return that night for the steak night. Not disappointed. Excellent food and plenty of it. Will return when in area next.

We've enjoyed many meals in the restaurant since The Rising Sun has become our local and tonight we had wood fired pizzas outside. Lovely choice, really fresh.. delicious. And sunshine too! 🙂

We visited the afternoon of the England v Germany match. We had last visited 3 years ago when we last brought the boat up the Ashby Canal. As soon as we entered the bar we knew things had changed, the barmaid was cheerful and friendly. We decided to stay and watch the match, so pleased we did! As well as the restaurant they also now have a wood fired pizza oven and the pizzas are delicious and very good value for money. We had a brilliant night and a huge thank you to the whole of the staff!

Fish and chips were lovely. Only disappointment was the Banana split, which consisted of a small Banana 1 strawberry and a bit of ice cream. Staff were very welcoming and the place looks lovely. Well worth a visit. Will be going there again.

First time visiting, good service, clean, great food and I think reasonably priced considering the area, and most importantly the beer was spot on. 👌Even the dog was Catered for with a fresh bowl of water.Thank you to the staff at the Rising sun for making my day that little bit better 😃.
