Staff is friendly and rooms are spacious and comfortable.Only minus is that the restaurant service closes too early.

·

Really nice place, lovely inside and welcoming staff.Good choice or real ale.Prices are a little high hence why I can't justify 5 stars but it's close.

Revisited a place we used to frequent quite a lot. Very disappointed. Sat in bar for drinks just turned 9pm. Felt cold so asked if fire could be stoked as it was nearly out. Were told 'No, been told to let it go out'. Could accept this if the radiators had been on. Sat with drinks. It was freezing. Not pleasant felt unwelcome so left. Wife left her wine it was so cold. Went to find somewhere warm and inviting. Won't be going back in a hurry.

We have just returned from a lunchtime visit to the Royal Arms Sutton Cheney, booked at two pm arrived unfashionably early, empty car park empty and very cold restaurant. Greeted well but told the table would need to be back by 5pm (did I say empty). We were asked about drinks fairly quickly, which was nice, unlike the flat warm Local ale, we were celebrating a wedding anniversary but due to the lack of baby sitters our table was for 3+1 high chair. We ordered starters as the children wanted to eat quickly a soup to share for the little ones and a cured salmon for us. Soup was fine with a petit pan roll and served in a nice large cappuccino mug, the salmon was hardly cured but the beetroot purée was nice, the white blob of something resembling horseradish was odd to say the least, and the petit dice of thing in the centre of the plate was decidedly rank.Service at this point went south quicklyMains eventually arrived a small battered fish, some ok bought in chunky chips (under seasoned). Tartar sauce from a jar and “mushy peas” pea purée mixed with garden peas, were a sad reflection of the rest of our visit, we finished and awaited the dessert menu or possibly a member of staff to clear the main course. To no avail, we eventually sent our son to ask for a menu to which a reception lady sent him back with menus alone. At this point myself and my Wife decided our visit was over. As a team no self respecting manager/ waitress would just give a menu! Surely come over clear away and ask if everything is ok, take a dessert order or ask if coffees would be required. Well not at the royal arms,Food was pub worthy service was not as good as McDonald’s

Firstly let me say that the food was absolutely lovely but when asked if there was any other option other than the Christmas menu we were shown a lite bite menu. Totally admitting to tell us that there was a special board. We duly ordered and enjoyed our meal. That being said at paying ÂŁ29.95 per person for the Christmas menu I would have expected an after dinner mint and/or a concessional mini mince pie but no. I also would have expected a Christmas cracker to be on the table and not expected to pay an extra 50p. Admittedly niggly things but felt as if they let the whole experience down.

We had our wedding here back in July 2021 and it was such a perfect day. As we were still in the midst of Covid, Anoop and the team did everything to make our day as amazing as possible and it really was. The setting, the food, the suppliers, the rooms were all brilliant. Anyone looking for a spacious venue, with great attention to detail, I would highly recommend. The staff were so helpful and everything ran smoothly on the day. We will definitely be heading back soon! Thank you again for everything
