Really nice food, marking it down because they don't take bookings. Food and service is good though

Found this pub by chance, Very impressed, warm welcome. My husband and I had a Sunday Roast which was excellent. Would heartily recommend this pub

·

Lovely pub serving good food and beer at very reasonable prices. Service is prompt and the staff are very friendly and attentive

We had a family meal here on Mother's Day. The carvery looked lovely, and roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were homemade! Always a bonus! I had steak and it was cooked really well. The chips were just frozen steak chips......not very good if I'm honest. But overall, quite impressed. I haven't eaten here for a fair amount of years, but would definitely go back.

Best pub in the Welland Valley. Good choice of beers, wines & ciders, good pub food at great prices. Super beer garden - child friendly.

Carvery was nice friendly waitress and waiter sorting the tables. Very rude female bar person taking orders ! The same person came after one hour to say we would have to move as table was booked for 2 pm however when we rang previously we were told that you can’t book ! We knew the table had a reserved sign on it for 2 pm and we were finished eating. Perhaps that person should go on a customer service course as her manner was atrocious and rude! Won’t be back in a hurry

I had the bacon, brie and cranberry baguette, which was filling and well made. There was plenty of space to sit outside for our cycling club.Orders were made using the web app which made selecting and paying for food and drink extremely easy. It was then subsequently brought out in quick time. The only mark against the experience was the absolutism of the ordering system. While I understand the need for it, orders could still have made accepted in person. I personally am of an age where I find the new way of doings things quite simple but a few of my friends struggled. I also happened to have my phone with me but I wonder what accomodations would be available to those that don't. It would be best practice for an establishment to provide their own devices at tables if they are planning on transitioning to such ordering systems.

Considering the current COVID-19 climate, I was unimpressed by the amount of people within the pub. It was very cramped and packed when ordering at the bar. Due to the one way system in place at the pub, in order to exit the pub it was required that I walk through a swathe of people and it was impossible to socially distance at that point. The food was however, very nice.

·

Really good food at very good prices ordered a chicken breast and chorizo burger and doubled up for an extra £2. Cooked perfectly, nice and juicy and full of flavour. very friendly staff. Would highly recommend

My family and I had been visiting Market Harborough for the weekend and stopped at The Wheel and Compass for lunch before a 3 hour car journey home. We have been before and it's our favourite place to go before our journey. The staff are all very friendly and polite and make everyone feel very welcome even in busy periods. Today (Sunday) was very busy as they have a carvery on until 5pm on Sundays but they still made sure we were well looked after!Thank you very much to Susan who went out of her way to bring what we needed for our meals and make sure we were happy. The garden is lovely and we got to see some horses in the field behind the pub!Lovely place and will definitely visit again next time we come up to see family. Thank you 😊😊😊
