Istanbul Barbecue House in Leicester

Been here a few times now, it's a great little place with great staff. You can walk in, place your order and wait whilst watching the BBQ wizards do their thing. Will be going back again soon. Reason for 4 stars is they only accept cash.

Food was amazing ! Friendly owners with good service a must try.

The food here is really good, but their delivery service is appalling. If you order from here ensure you collect your food otherwise it’ll take much longer than they initially say. It took over 1.5 hours to deliver one kebab and chips.

Ordered by phone and went to pick up at the alloted time. Had to wait another 45 minutes with no apologies. People coming in and ordering served before me.

I bought 2 whole naan breads from them today for £5 for takeaway. Got home, opened the bag and inside was bread with mould all over (see photos) 🤧 So disgusting! I was appalled that they’d sell that to their customers. Had I not paid attention, I could have gotten sick. Who knows how many other customers were served food like this and hadn’t paid attention? I drove back because I was quite shocked, especially given I was charged a significant amount for something inedible. I tried explaining the situation politely. First of all, they kept ignoring me, walking away halfway of me talking, disrupting what I was trying to communicate, as if the problem would go away if they just didn’t listen to me. Eventually, one person gave me another batch of bread and threw away the mouldy bread, basically shooing me away, no apology, no consideration at all for the inconvenience and basically not even hearing me out about how bad it is that they’d serve this to their customers. I asked for a refund even though they offered a swap, given there wasn’t an ounce of sympathy, or a sorry. In response the manager was so egotistical and arrogant, he took the new batch of naan from my hands, handed me back my £5, challenged me to report his hygiene instead of apologising, and shooed me off disrespectfully, as if I was in the wrong and causing nuisance; when I wouldn’t have had to return had they given fresh food in the first place, and I had every right to complain. Frankly, I wouldn’t have had to write a negative review had they handled the situation well. Such awful and disgusting customer service on top of awful hygiene clearly. Never supporting their business again, and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone else.

Great lamb chop 🐑I was surprised by the chop since it has no bonesIt taste fantastic. Can’t resistant to finish them all.Friends had mixed kababa.Was decent size and great taste too.Would recommend if you fancy some proper lamb chop and kababaHappy eating everyone. ;)

Ordered mixed grill and found the food tasted delicious. The price of the food was reasonable and the wait time for take away was less than 5 mins (pre-ordered). The staffs were humble and greeted when I entered.Authentic Turkish cuisine. Should try!

The food itself was nice, not fantastic but was good. What I can't get my head round was the constant bickering of employees inside regarding peoples orders and bills. If you have something to say to each other, do it where paying customers can't hear. Also... A £3 service charge for service that was merely adequate - not good enough. I wanted to like this place as it was close to home, but I don't think ill be back.

The food was nice but we have ordered for the past 4 weeks and had no issues but today they missed a kebab off the order. When I called to say they were really unhelpful. I asked for it to be sent straight away and was told they were really busy. No apology or anything. As we had placed a large order and not received some of it we should have been a priority for it to be sent out. Called again after waiting 30 minutes and told it was on its way. After a further 30 minutes (over an hour in total) it still wasn’t here. They refused to refund as ordered through just eat. The women who took the calls was unhelpful and inept at resolving our issues. We will never order again.

Had the takeaway many times so we decided to try the eat-in.Wed afternoon was a bit quieter as it’s usually packed during dinner time~ we ordered for the set for 2 and they gave us some bread before we ordered, it was amazing, it’s hot and they gave us some sauces and olives too~The meat taste even better than takeaway we had before... price is higher to eat in but it’s worth it... the salad is very refreshing and because of the bread we cannot finish our meal so we asked for a take out box. The service was good but little on the slow side~ they will offer you some Turkish tea on the house once you done with the meal.Overall we like this dine in experience and will definitely come again.P.S. you do smell of food afterwards, your clothes, your hair. 🤣
