Johnny Custard - Evington Road in Leicester

Really enjoyed this place in the last 6 months. However I have noticed that they have upped the prices up 20% claiming it was for VAT however never provide a receipt and strictly cash only…..Secondly the portions have gone smaller and when asking the staff. They responded back with “due to covid”….Come on guys. Competition is high within the area, I will be going elsewhere now.

A good place overall, desserts were outstanding. Just the staff was a bit impolite I thought. Ambience is 100%

The decor of this place is nice, lots of seating available a mixture of booths and tables and chairs.I've only given my visit 2 stars as my experience was flat. The server could do with being a bit more friendly and maybe smile and not give the impression that he is doing me a favour by my visit.I think the food and drink is overpriced. £3.49 for a tiny cappuccino. This place has 2 branches, surprising that they are a cash only establishment so if you do decide to give them a go make sure you have cash!The waffle was ok, very airy and light.I don't think I'll be going here again, their competitors on the same road are cheaper, accept card payments and have good customer service!

From start to finish the desserts were amazing. Strawberry daiquiri is a must try if you come here as well the cookie dough and velvet cake. 👌

I had very high expectations for Johnny custards but what a huge disappointment. I went with family and I found the puddings really bad quality, stale cornflake tart, rubbery crepes , custard tasted cheap and mocktails full of ice and over sweet! Won’t be coming here again , hope improvements are made for the near future ..

Lovely aroma and freshly served warm desserts. I wish they would use better quality flour for their desserts which will enhance the taste and texture of their offerings. Had the crepe and waffles. The cutleries could do with better cleaning though.

Sarah on the till was very rude after they messed up my 5 year old daughters simple ice cream cone order. She made assumptions that we were after a freebie when we wanted buy a plain cone to rectify their mistake. Service with a smile goes a long way but here even a smile isnt free!

First time I've tried this place. Really good quality desserts. Good portion sizes and just the right amount of sweetness. If you've got a sweet tooth great place to visit with parking close by. They really do some good custard I ordered the cornflake tart with custard. 9/10

Cool place for Desserts. Food, clean, price, services everything outstanding.
