Wagamamas in Leicester

Expensive and portion was small with not enough sauce. Our drinks arrived after our meal was finisheddespite asking a few times and extra sauce arrived when meal was cold. Server was in training so not her fault but someone should have been supervising her. Also one item not available but was still on bill. Usually this place is good so hopefully a one off.

They deserve 5 stars rating for the following reasons:- short wait to be seated.- staff are prompt they cleaned the tables very quickly to make sure that customers in the waiting area are seater ASAP.- staff and friendly and nice.- The menu has been wide vegan meals options.- Appetizers and main dish took less than 15 minutes to be delivered to my table.- Delicious food.- Above all a nice dining atmosphere.Thank youVisited on the 13th of Feb 2022

Great meal good service just nobody on the door to seat us stood there like idiots just sat ourselves down

It's not often I have a poor experience when dining out but on this occasion it all seemed to go wrong. We arrived just before 7pm on a Sunday evening and were made to wait outside in the rain for 20 minutes whilst a table became available. Why they couldn't move their large unused parasols to the entrance I don't know?! The place was busy which is usually a good sign. Once we were seated one of the team came over and took our order for drinks and starters. The food started arriving before long and I can't fault the quality or presentation, both were great. Where it did fall short was service. We asked for an extra side plate so that we could share one of the starters, 15 minutes later and still no sign of it. I also asked another staff member for some cutlery as my partner isn't great with chopsticks. The waiter came back with 2 forks and told us that all of the knives were currently being washed so we couldn't have any. ALL OF THE KNIVES. I've never known this to happen in any restaurant ever. The last straw was that we'd ordered 3 starters and it took 40 minutes between the first and last one arriving at our table, you'd think the dishes would be brought out together. We didn't bother staying for mains and the side plate never arrived!The staff seemed nice enough but were clearly rushed off their feet and there was no sign of any management, just an ongoing disaster. We were only a party of 2, I'd hate to have been in one of the larger groups. Needless to say I won't be returning any time soon.

I ate here last night with some work colleagues. We were served by Tyrone who couldn't do enough to make sure we were well looked after. Absolutely amazing service by him.

The vegan options were extremely tasty, really nice that there was a completely separate vegetarian / vegan menu. Plenty of dessert choice. A must try especially in January.

We went for our daughters birthday meal. Wow what fabulous service we have had from Stefan! From start to finish, his service was outstanding. He took on board, there was a allergy took a lot of care. We are leaving extremely happy with the service! Stefan is a credit to wagamamas.

On a positive note, the food is normally good. But that is where the positives end!The service is poor. Queuing system is rubbish. An hour outside while tables were empty. The servers managing queue were having a laugh with each other like they couldn't care less.Service inside wasn't much better. They rushed us to our table then rushed taking our order. They delivered someone else's order to our table! Then they didn't have ingredients for our drinks but instead of coming back to tell us, they simply didn't bother. When we almost finished our (spicy) meal we chased up the drinks as we were struggling without liquids... and that was when we found out about the missing ingredients and they asked us to order something else. Too late! This wasn't the servers fault, more a problem with communication between the kitchen / manager who didn't tell the server!Although we like the food at wagas and like the look of the vegan menu, the service and 'couldn't be bothered' attitude of the servers / manager puts us off.If you don't mind queuing outside when tables are clearly available and like to constantly chase up on drinks / food then go to this wagas, otherwise go elsewhere for a better experience!! Plenty of choices around there...

It's a wagas, it's good. They also manage crowds and groups very well so as to not put off couples and small groups
