Pyewipe Inn in Lincoln

What can I say, an absolute shocking experience.I visited the restaurant on mothers day with my mum. Her mobility is very poor and I could not get near the entrance parking wise. I had to back up the ramp as far as I could so she could get inside. This is not the first time we have experienced an issue, on our previous visit the doors used for disable access that are also a fire exit were closed and a large plant pot was in front of it.After booking in I asked the attendant if I could speak to a manager, she told me she was the owners daughter and could help me. I started to explain my concern and it is fair to say I was frustrated. The general manager who I will not name arrived and took over.I explained my frustration to be told by the general manager that the Pyewipe comply with council requirements. I said there are no disabled parking spaces and he simply repeated his comment, I was then told to lower my voice when I was speaking firmly but not overly loud and he said did we want to eat or not and to leave it there.I was clearly not going to get anywhere so I said we will eat. As I walked into the dining area I said you are required to comply with the Equality Act. At this he said your not leaving it, you must leave. I was horrified, I said what? and he ordered us to leave telling me we would not be served and that if anything I owed him an apology.My mum asked what was happening and I explained we had been told to leave, her look was tragic and the general manager relented and said we could stay if I left it. I did.I felt so uncomfortable I actually went up to him and apologised, I cannot believe I was made to feel like that.All he had to say was "thank you for your feed back sir, we will take that on board"I work with people who deal with incredibly difficult customer service problems and they are kind and compassionate because who knows what someone is going through right at that moment.I have been a regular visitor over the last couple of years pandemic allowable as are my wider family but I will never visit again. I told my sister who said the food quality has dropped any way and given what I experienced I am not surprised.Worst customer service I have ever experienced and as for my poor mum who has had some very difficult times with her health recently, shame on you is all I can say.My advice if you have disabled family members, go somewhere else.

Took a lovely walk along the canal and came to The Pyewipe Inn, we saw so much lovely food being delivered to tables around us that we decided to eat. So pleased that we did. My partner had the fish and chips which was gorgeous with a really light batter, fluffy white flakes of fish, delicious chips and mushy peas. I had Steak, Mushroom and Ale Pie, with Mash, broccoli and carrots. I would absolutely have no hesitation in recommending the Pie, it was by far the best Pie I have had in a very long time, if not ever. The huge cubes of beef were succulent, tender and tasty, with half mushrooms, in a delicious gravy topped by a wonderful flaky pastry, accompanied by creamy mash and well cooked veg. You would not leave hungry. Really, I will go out of my way to return to The Pyewipe Inn. The staff were extremely pleasant and attentive which only added to a wonderful experience. Thank you

Just been down for the partners birthday and the food and service was amazing. I had the fish chips and mushy peas and they were certainly up there with the best I've had, more than welcome to supply us with plates for our own birthday cake. would we go again...you bet 👏👏

Great beer garden and looks very nice. They also have a good selection of drinks. Bartender wasn't the most inviting and seemed to be very confused when I asked to sit outside? Slightly strange but all round good pub.

Stayed a night and found it to be a lovely place to stay. Right on the water at Foss Dyke, loads of people through the day seemed to enjoy stopping there on their bikes, sitting in the ample outside areas.The room I stayed in was really nice too, clean, quiet and comfy. Definitely going to stay again.

Food was very good, the service left a lot to be desired, I was asked if I wanted the bill three times before I asked for it. The first time was before I had been asked if I wanted a sweet.Disappointing as if the service was as good as the food it would of got five stars.

Love the food here and never been disappointed. Had my second date here where we had a romantic walk by the canal 7 years ago. Where my romantic date (now husband) went to grab my hand and only farted on it. How did he get a 3rd date haha. We often go back and have a meal here and it's lush.

Our visit was on a cold/windy Monday in February - we had the place entirely to ourselves as we were the only guests ! Almost unbelievable. We all had a light meal, mainly baguettes which were excellent. Food and drink pricing was above normal price but this is an enormously popular venue - so maybe they think they can justify the prices! The place is huge in scale but looking a little tired and in need of a spruce up... Staff really friendly and had a good sense of humour.... Recommended? Yes, but with hesitation.

Fantastic place to stay and dine x Staff very attentive. Breakfast and evening meals are just amazing. Highly recommended 👌 stayed 3 nights in the Lodge accommodation, room was spotlessly clean bed very comfortable ample size room well equipped and warm.

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms were very clean and the staff in the main area, bar and restaurant very helpful and attentive. Very reasonably price and easily walkable to town along the canal.
