Lovely cafe, tasty cake and coffee, interesting gifts on sale

Haven't ever noticed this place before. Went in for the first time today and was pleased I did! Lovely little cafe and homeware shop. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Will be returning to try the afternoon tea!

Went in today for the first time in a couple of months we used to love this place particularly the braised hot beef sandwiches they did.Not any more my wife had the beef sandwich the beef was like shoe leather the staff agreed it was very tough so no longer braised just a slice of shoe leather that she couldn’t even bite through.No refund or replacement was offered from the kitchen.We have Airbnb’s and have always recommended this cafe we won’t be doing in future.Poor food slow service and dreadful customer service.Steer clear.

Very nice cafe. Very friendly staff. A little gem hidden away but worth seeking out. Fantastic hot chocolate and top notch ciabatta sandwiches.

We stopped here for hot chocolates and tea cakes on our way up to the cathedral. Beautiful cafe with friendly staff. They also sold lots of home items, with some amazing Christmas decorations! Definitely recommend!

Sanctuary in the Bail, provides just that, a sanctuary from the stresses of life, from the moment you enter, you are met by the wonderful owner, Stephen and his friendly staff.The food is delicious and a good broad choice of high quality dishes, made with care for the look as well as the flavour. No one pushes you to finish and you can choose a shed (need to book) with blankets and privacy to see and relax.The shop also sells a good range of gift items, including jewellery, pottery and candles.It now includes a covered outdoor area to relax in as well.

You couldn't get anywhere nicer in the Bailgate! Absolutely lovely, friendly staff. Always accommodating, great food, and atmosphere. Their home made cakes are delightful!

Just enjoyed afternoon tea. To say it was amazing is an understatement. Outshines Betty's by a mile. everything made on premises staff couldn't be more accommodating with lots of smiles
