Update: the pub is closed now ------ Apparently this place is going to be closed down permanently in the next days. Not sure when is their last open day but I guess we can still visit them to show our support to staff and current managers.

Under new management so should change for the better or worse? Let's see.

These are the HQ of the Weirdough Pizza 🍕🍕🍕 ! Available only for takeaway and delivery currently but so worth the try! The pizza is delicious with an excellent selection of "think out of the box" combos that are the closest thing to authentic Italian pizza (I go to Italy every year so trust my taste buds!)!

Absolutely beautiful quaint little pub. Awesome staff and atmosphere, well worth a visit. Totally deserves its 5 star rating. Keep your eyes open for live music events, be prepared to book in advance. Couple of pictures of Relentless Rockabilly Band, at the first gig outside in May.

On the 17th November I went to a band night at the Tap & Spile. This was a band I'd seen multiple times and a venue I'd been to before. Due to guidelines it was table service and preplanned seating. In the second half of the night I started to feel bizzare, I was planning on staying until closing, but my gut told me to get out. Luckily I did, as not long after I was sick and cannot remember anything else apart from waking up in A&E. My drink had been spiked, and was tested positive for heroin or/and an opiate. The night I was in A&E, my mum got in contact with the Tap and spoke to the manager, Jamie, who was apologetic. She was told he would review the cctv in the morning, and get back in contact. Monday came, she rang again to inform them of that my test had come back positive, and to prompt on the cctv. Again Jamie said he would check in the morning and get back to us. We heard nothing.I then met with Police on Tuesday who said they would investigate the situation. They rang and tried to get in contact with the pub and Jamie multiple times to review their cctv, to no response. So unfortunately they had to close the case.So if you are thinking of going to this pub consider constantly watching your drink. The only others that came into contact with my drinks were the staff. Why would a pub not do their upmost to help a police case, and to clear up any suspicions? To me it seem a little convenient that no one was able to view the footage.I will not be going back to the pub again. Which is a terrible shame as I want to support a local band who has been hit by covid, and they regularly play there when possible. But I do not trust them one bit. Please be careful!

Good selection of beers on tap. The crowd on a Friday evening changes from very loud students to slightly more sedate 'older' people as the evening progresses, just as the live music comes on. So if you want a quiet pint don't come because the atmosphere is definitely alive.

Just had a cracking night at the re-opening (I believe) of the tap & spike. Dam good slightly alternative pub with great beer and friendly staff. And the live music was great. Loved it. May even come again. Despite living in Bristol!!

Very lively pup, live music and good priced drinks. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was exciting but that did make it hard to hear each other's conversation.

Been coming here for a decade. The previous owners were amazing and the guy who looks after it at the moment is doing a great job too. A very friendly local and be sure to do Ricks music quiz. It's the best in Lincoln!
