The Castlegate Restaurant in Lincoln

We've always really enjoyed food from here. It's pretty reasonably priced but as others have said, the delivery is shockingly bad. Whenever we've picked it up it's been ready after 30 minutes or so, but delivery today took over 2 hours! They really need to get their act together on this.

You’re probably reading this after accidentally ordering an Indian from castlegate and now you want to know where it is. Well sit down you’re in for a long one. My best advise would be cancel the order and have some toast. It will save you a lot of hassle and you will probably enjoy it more. There is absolutely no point ringing them up, because they certainly have no idea when it will be arriving. You’re better off cracking out the crystal ball!

Had to give 1star but would of rather given no stars at all. Shocking service. Order at 18.25pm, received email to say that the order was completed at 19.01, should of been delivered by 19.10. Was still waiting come 8pm. I rang to find out where the order was and had to ring twice as they picked up and put phone straight down again. When I did get to speak to someone he was extremely rude on the phone and like he couldn’t be arsed! Told me the order was with the driver and should be with me soon. Asked where was he coming from as they only on high street and I wasn’t 5min drive from there, with his response being “well we a driver down and got many orders!” And then proceeded to put the phone down on me! When the food did turn up I asked said driver how many deliveries had he done before coming to me and I was only his second delivery! Food was cold naan bread was cold too and hard and no flavour to it at all! Will never go to them again or even eat in their restaurant! Just wish I’d read the reviews before hand, just hope others do before ordering from them

Korma & Jalfrezi very basic but OK, Onion Bhaji's were awful god knows how old they were but not fresh that's for certain. Poppadoms OK but some were dark brown slightly burned, didn't really affect taste. Onion Chutney, Mint & Onion salad poppadom dip OK but again nothing special. Service was friendly and no issues there but foodwise i would avoid unless you are absolutely desperate, very disappointing.

literally used to love this place! as a veggie, their castlegate special meal deal was always a godsend. saag paneer recipe has been changed for the worse however - and this evening, half of my meal was incorrect. i didn’t receive the side, the food was literally freezing cold, and the cheesy chips had no cheese! cmon guys! i’m embarrassed even having to write this!

Pizza great, chips great. Of course they were, we cooked ourselves. Will let you know how the curry is if it ever arrives or they choose to answer their phone.Yes I'm talking about Castlegate Restaurant. Ordered at 5.40 recieved at 9.25 tried calling multiple times but you just picked up and hung up. Shocking service. Avoid at all costs

Regardless of quality, which was ok, I won't be ordering again. Ordered 6:21pm with 45 min delivery time. Rang 7:30pm to be told order still in kitchen. Delivered finally at 8:05pm.....not even a complimentary popadom for inconvienience! Don't accept orders you can't fullfill! 😤

Naans had been microwaved for so long that they were rubbery and inedible. My daughter's meal was bland and watery... Both meals were extremely greasy. I could have cooked a better one myself for a fraction of the cost. So disappointed when it was a treat after a hard working Saturday

The food was pretty good, the poppadoms and sauces were great with a generous amount and the food cake out really quick. The issue I had was the plates were visibly dirty and so were the walls which made the whole place look like a bit of a dirt pit. Although the food was good I wouldn't recommend eating in.
