We are a family based team who love discovering farmhouse, artisan cheeses from Britain and the Continent and bringing them to your doorstep, freshly-cut and perfectly packaged. Alongside our mail order business, is our Cheese Shop and Cheese Cafe based in the Cathedral Quarter of Lincoln. We love to encourage our customers to try before they buy from our range of new and interesting cheeses. We have a fully cheese-centric food menu with all dishes homemade and locally sourced. We're a relaxed, convivial eating space and shop with a seasonal focus. Come and see us!"

What a fantastic place. We had lunch here after reading some good reviews, and were not disappointed. Really nice food, lovely staff and a great atmosphere.

I've ordered a box of different cheese online for the first time and I'm so happy with everything. Firstly, the cheese selection is great! Some really great finds and gems in their offering. Their shipping was fast and the package was well thought out and nice. I absolutely love they use waxed papered, it's a more expensive option but the better one from a product perspective. We will be returning clients for sure.

It had cheese. Lots of cheese. Cold cheese and cooked cheese which was incredible. Puddings were very tasty even tough one didn't have cheese in it. A must stop if you in Lincoln in my opinion.

The cheese is beautifully tasty and fresh. The delivery service is great too. The only thing that lets these cheeses down is the very short dates….only 12 days in the deliveries we have had which invariably means some waste.

Staff are friendly and attentive and the menu has some great items to tryI personally bought some cheese afterwards and was given some great advice based on what I was looking for and to suit my budget.I look forward to returning to try more of the whole menu!

The Cheese Society is quite unique. Tucked away in a quiet corner just off the busy centre of Lincoln, they stock more cheeses than you have ever seen in one place. But don't worry if you are a cheese beginner; Lucy and her team are on hand to guide you to the tastes and textures you like, with little sample nibbles to make sure it is just what you want. For those of you who are not able to get to Lincoln, never fear, they are also online.

A lovely place and some good products stay away from e numbers and bit of a struggle getting into shop with wheel chair ,step but helped that was nice.Would love to give it five star but not yet it's still getting better, and the people behind it are working hard to achieve this.Good customer service is the key.

I received a gift box, as a present and absolutely loved it. Great selection of delicious cheeses, which were beautifully presented. I then ordered a gift for my friend. After I gave the wrong address, they were really friendly and managed to rearrange the order to be delivered again (to the correct address) the same day! Great service, my friend was delighted. Very happy.

Amazing place to eat or shop if you love cheese. We tried the fondue which came with a lovely selection of baby potatoes, bread sticks and sour dough bread.

I did an online order for a gift. The ordering process was really smooth with a wide variety of cheeses available. The packaging was eco friendly and the explanation of cheese etiquette made the experience really fun and was a great extra touch. The cheeses we picked were excellent! The portion sizes were great and the tastes were delicious. We particularly enjoyed smoked Snowdonia and truffle gouda. The customer service was prompt and the friendliest I’ve ever experienced from an online order. I highly recommend The Cheese Society for brilliantly tasty cheeses, great portions, and very good customer service.
