The Lincolnshire Poacher in Lincoln

We didn’t find the menu choices particularly great this time but we liked what we had, like another table by us we were disappointed with the portion size and was advised this was due to the food arriving pre portioned.Three of us had southern fried chicken with chicken gravy… I think research needs to be done into this as it should not be watery instant gravy, should be thick and tasty to dip the food in.

We had been the week before and had an amazing meal. Mixed grill with a steak came out nice and hot, exactly as ordered. Hunters chicken too. Drinks served with a smile. Returned last night, same service but limited menu due to a kitchen issues, but still the same standard of food. Definitely returning in the future. Compliments to all the staff & Chef

I ordered a steak rare. This came back perfect. I have been to a few different places around Lincoln not been at the Poacher for years.. food was excellent it actually came to the table hot and you could feel the heat coming off the food. Everything was perfect even down to the price. Table service very informative and also knowledgeable which is a surprise. Clean and tidy and a good atmosphere.. I would recommend the food to anybody.. and like I said the price was very good

Everything was just fine. The service was good and friendly. The only reason for giving a 9, rather than a 10, was that my gammon steak was underdone, but I asked for it to be cooked more thoroughly and this was quickly and politely rectified.

2 of us had the mixed grill and 1 of us had the mega mixed grill on14th March 2022Even though we requested the steaks cooked medium to well done, unfortunately the steaks were under done and I struggled to cut the steak with my steak knife as it was so rare.... pity because the rest of the grill meats were OK and the staff were very polite.Maybe it's a poor steak supply issue or the chef doesn't know how to grill steaks properly.The rest of the grill was lovely, but the steak really let it down.

I have already recommended your pub to our neighbours. The food was good so was the service, the venue was a bit chilly when we arrived but warmed up as more people came in. It wasn’t too overcrowded I think some social distancing was still adhered to. All in all a pleasant experience.

Nice place to eat, lovely big place, Food was good, nice and hot, which is important to me, only thing to fault was it was cold in there, had to keep my coat on

First time, very impressed. Took my mother for lunch, could not fault the food. Ordered a tonic water for mum, £2.50 for Fever Tree, bottle open before you can say anything.

Mr & Mrs David Rowe would like to complement the chef/ chefs and all the working staff on Christmas day 2021at the poacher pub. You all did your selves proud today excellent food well manned staff. It is nice and spacious, food was reasonable. Child friendly with outdoor activity and play equipment was enjoyed by my three year old. Car parking was good, I may return in future.
