The best meal we have had in an age. Brodie greeted us and looked after our every need. We selected the tasting menu which was fantastic. He explained all the paired wines with skill. Honestly the best service we have ever had. Felt like we were in an episode of Masterchef. The atmosphere and decor of the venue was relaxed but with an air of fine dining, beautiful linens and great glassware. 10/10, would definitely recommend.

Went for Sunday lunch, really good value for money at 24.95 for three courses. I had soup, beef and chocolate delice, my partner had mackerel, venison and the banana pudding and a cheeseboard. The bread was tasty and the amuse boucher was okay. The soup was great, velvety and nice flavour, the mackerel starter was a big portion and the skin ok the fish wasn't torched but that was a minor fault. The beef brisket was soft and delicious, the portions were good sizes. Roast potatoes not very crispy but good flavour. The venison main was slightly misleading on the menu as it mention a sweet potato cake and it wasn't expected that the venison would come incorporated into the cake, it wasn't to my taste personally. Both desserts were delicious! We also took a toddler with us and they were very accommodating to say it doesn't give the vibe of being suitable for young families as they do not supply high chairs but we had no problem taking our own. The venue itself was lovely, cozy and full of character and then staff were attentive and thorough.

Service was exceptional, but unfortunately a few people in our party didn't really enjoy their food, however usually it's good.

Was expecting a lovely meal based on a recent recommendation. However to be very honest the food was tasteless, over priced and served at a very low temperature, nearly cold. The menu states the food is served warm not hot. I asked why meals were served warm? The waitress answered, we cook everything to order, and by the time we serve your meal the food will be warm not hot. I’ve never heard of that before. We won’t be going back, there are much better restaurants close by.

The main reason to dine at The Old Bakery was that it was close to home - we used to go there from time to time. A few weeks ago, a waitress asked to take our temperature - not exactly what you expect in a restaurant. I do have a thermometer at home, if I need to take my temperature. I can also pop in at my GP, in case I need some medical examination. Things have gone a bit too far in these times, with people policing other people. It is, by no means, the guidance of the UK government to have small businesses enforcing things like temperature taking. To think that restaurant owners would medically examine their customers has simply put me off the dining "experience": just lost my appetite. There are plenty of mediocre Italian restaurants in town to choose from - at least, some of them greet you with a friendly smile.

The tasting menu with matching wine was amazing. Service was perfect in lovely surroundings with very knowledgeable staff.

A last minute booking, what a pleasure! Dinner, overnight stay and breakfast. Lovely atmosphere. We stayed in room 3 it was quirky, comfortable, we loved the added extras like homemade cookies and enjoyed a bubble bath in the spacious en-suite. Walking distance to the city centre, perfect for a visit to the shops, bars and restaurants of Lincoln, but be sure to have at least one meal here to enjoy a fine dining experience. Only downside is we wanted to stay longer!

Best meal we've had so far! They were so accommodating with our dietary requirements. I had the beef as the main, it was out of this world. Tender, and tasty. Just a perfect meal to celebrate a birthday and 60th wedding anniversary.

Awful, no atmosphere, food was terrible service was worse! No gin glasses, lovely wine glasses on the table then serve you wine in the cheapest glass imaginable. I should have known when I phoned to make the booking, she may as well have said I really don't want to be here!! And sadly we got her serving us on the day.

Excellent food and the paired wines were spot on! Tasting menu was well balanced and quantity was well judged. We didn't have the optional cheese course but those with bigger appetites would have enjoyed it, I'm sure.Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Smallish rooms but then, it's a very old building and so it's a good use of the space available! Breakfast was delicious and very relaxed as there's a maximum of just three double rooms!
