Not a great place to be. The staff did not make eye contact on arrival, and made no effort to engage at all. The bar staff appeared to be on a goth revival. The beer was fine, no evidence of a menu, the staff bought in some takeaway Polystyrene boxes and gave it to a patron. Had a pint and left, never to return.

Great pub, with a great selection of ales! A must visit if your in the Lincoln area, Alexander the bartender looked after us whilst we were there, top man!!

Local pub with a good range of beers. Timothy Taylor's landlord gets my vote.

After walking visiting family through a few of Lincoln's more tourist hot spots and pubs, this was definitely not a tourist pub, but we wanted something more authentic with a decent choice of beers, and we got it. The manager was happy to offer a replacement beer after the one I was served tasted a little off. I know this happens frequently with ales so wasnt surprised, but the attitude of the manager was excellent, very understanding and knowledgeable about his beers. A bit drab after the tourist pubs, but it kinda adds character and is used by seemingly local folk. Friendly and welcoming. Other staff were helpful and friendly too. Well done!

Great little bar in a lovely location. The staff are both helpful and welcoming. We visited to try a pop up burger stall outside called MeatCastles and the bar allowed us to eat the food inside. Will visit again.

I love this place - full of character and the ale is just the best. Spend an hour or two if your itinerary allows, it's a great little pub and the atmosphere can be full of CAMRA folk on a good night

For years I've loved this pub.Buts it's now cold, damp, it's beer poor and it's welcome as nice as it's non existent pork pies. Please improve and we'll be back

Really liked this place. Friendly staff, good beer choices. I had Timothy Taylor's which was excellent. This is how pubs used to be!

Good ale and friendly service at this well situated pub, near to the Cathedral and Castle.
