Very friendly and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend. Food was lovely also.

Nice ladies running the place ..but not very welcoming inside ..cold and bare looking ..food was ok ..not not to avery high standard .

Very quiet on the night we visited but beautiful simple food, fresh and tasty for a very good price. Bar staff very welcoming and chef was a top bloke came out and said hello. Thanks

Booked a table for 7 at 4pm today, to get there and them tell me they have no food left.. I explained we booked a table for 7 and they tell me I hadnt booked a table, because if I had, they would have saved us some food.. yet the staff look at their bookings and can clearly see we had booked, just stand there all looking at each other gone out.. No explaination or apology. We waited for a few minutes for one of them to say something to us.. but nothing.. so we all walked out.. No alternative options offered.. no apology. I'm actually disgusted. I called twice about the booking, as I asked to add an extra person to the table (who had drove miles to meet us for dinner), we left Rufford Abbey early to eat there, as initially we wanted to eat later but was told they only served the carvery until 4.45pm.. to get there after the shops had shut on a sunday at 4pm to no food..(they also took my contact number when i booked, but didnt bother to call us and let us know before hand) asif it is easy to walk into another pub and get a table for 7 on a Sunday afternoon. Never been before, safe to say we wont be attempting another visit.

Fantastic value carvery.Front of house greeted us very politely and was told unfortunately only turkey was available, which was okay as I hadn’t booked a table in advance.Service was swift and very friendly.Food was very nice and well prepared and served.Was offered a complimentary desert due to the lack of meat options.Will definitely come back if back in the area.

Not great if you have dairy allergy or don't eat meat. There is only one vegan option that is not actually vegan as the burger is fried on the same grill as beef burgers so you get a nice, fat tasting 'vegan' burger. Staff should let people know of this and let the customers make a choice.

On arrival we waited in the entrance for only a brief moment before being shown to a table.Clean and tidy table with clean cutlery.Pleasant member of the team attended to our needs and promptly delivered the chosen meal.We opted for the Sunday lunch option with a dessert.Freshly home cooked food presented well.Clean toilets on the exit from the pub.Would recommend to others.
