"It's great to be back! Thank you for your ongoing support over the last year. A few things to consider before you visit: Booking is not essential, though we would recommend you book in advance. Outdoor service is limited to guests in groups of six or two households (no limit on number) is permitted. Please note we may need to vary our opening hours and food service times given the time of year and the unpredictable nature of our Great British weather! Track and trace requirements have changed meaning all guests over 16 years of age must check in and provide their contact details. Unfortunately we must refuse service if guests do not comply. To get the most up-to-date notices on our re-opening, keep an eye on our Facebook page."

My partner and I are currently waiting for our food that we orderd over 45 minutes ago. There is about four tables sat down, with us included. Two of those have received their food, one of which has had to be taken back to the kitchen. We've heard them complaining about the wait for food also. My partner and I cannot remember the last time we have waited that long for food at any establishment, even places that have been packed with customers! We ordered at 2.45pm and it wasn't until 3.40pmIn that time, we've both finished our drinks and my partner has had to order another. My orange juice itself (a small Britvic bottle) cost £2. If I had of known that, I would had ordered something else!My partner also asked to upgrade my chips to cheesy chips for an additional 75p with my steak. When our food finally arrived, 55 minutes later, we were given a side of cheesy chips and told it was an additional £3.70! I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant and wouldn't be able to manage my own meal, let alone extra! The waitress said there was nothing she could do and that my parter had DEFINITELY required a side of cheesy chips, which was not the case at all. She told us she would get her Manager to have a word with us, but five minutes later instead came with £3.70 in change with a not very sincere apology. My steak looked, tasted and smelt horrible - more like pork if anything else, and the garden peas tasted awful with them being from a tin. The chips obviously needed less time or an oil change in the kitchen as they were rock hard.I've literally just finished eating, leaving over half of my food and my belly hurts! We shall not be returning here, and for those that say they've found a hidden gem in this place obviously haven't travelled very far or live under a rock.Utterly disgusted at the wait time, the customer service and the food 🤢

As soon as my wife and I entered the establishment a wonderfully enthusiastic young man greeted us gorgeously. All the staff were amazing and very friendly making our visit that little bit more enjoyable. The two of us both had chicken burgers and chocolate orange desserts. It didn’t take long at all for the food to arrive and the quality was just amazing. Overall, a very pleasant experience and I will be bringing my wife here many more time for many more of these very joyous and enjoyable experiences.

All the staff were exceptionally friendly and made my visit very pleasant. Food was divine and didn’t have to wait long at all for it to arrive. My husband and I enjoyed it very much and we will definitely be coming back in the near future and I expect many more times after that.

First and last time we're coming here. We were driving to a hungry horse pub in Mansfield but this caught our eye so we thought we'd try it instead.... Big regrets. Ordered fresh orange juice, pint of Pepsi max, medium rump steak with chips upgraded to cheese chips and the ultimate beef burger. 55 minutes later the food arrived, ultimate burger, medium rump steak (which bizarrely ended up tasting and smelling like pork?) and a side of cheesy chips? We immediately questioned why there was a side of cheesy chips and apparently that's what I ordered, she eventually went to the manager and rectified this and refunded the £3.70 in cash. We paid very close to £30 and feel robbed. Next stop is an errand but after that we're having pudding at the hungry horse pub as these aren't getting another penny out of us 😒

I think I've fallen upon a hidden gem of a pub! I'm not local to the area and was just passing by and realised I was ravenous, I ordered the mixed grill (steak medium rare) and it came out absolutely perfect! I got talking to the locals of this establishment who were most accommodating and all in all had a great but to brief visit. Next time I am up from my home in Cornwall I will definitely be stopping by this place again!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Marstens pub chain. Lovely staff, can't fault them, attentive, polite and accommodating. The pub used to do amazing home cooking which I was expecting but it's your usual pub grub now. Reasonable prices. Food was cooked fresh I felt, I had gammon, chips, mushy peas, grilled tomato half and grilled pineapple. Took a while to come out but was hot and nicely cooked. Minimal pudding menu so was disappointed as I didn't like anything they had to offer. I cannot comment on whether they had a specials board as I didn't see one and didn't ask. The pub dining area is lovely, clean and modern with good ambience. I'll eat here again.
