The Star in Mansfield

Outside area needs a bloody good clean up. Could be a great area, didn't see any staff out there for the entire time we were in.Barman was very nice and went to get me a drink from the cellar. Service good. Just got the feeling that team work is lacking.

Used to go here years ago, things have definitely improved. Had a chicken dinner there Sunday and it was amazing. All homemade, great pub garden with 2 large TVs for when it's nice out. Well be back

Went for a friend's birthday and landlord served the whole party and not me. We are all the same age and came in at half past 9 at night. I am 27 years old with 3 kids. I KNOW I don't look 21. Even though I had a coke the landlord was still being so rude and dismissive, like he was angry at me because I didn't just leave. This was my first time back in woodhouse in roughly 5 years, not sure if he's mixed me up with someone else but he's a d*CK.

The landlord were swearing at us not being professional and drinking on the job didn’t think that would be allowed! We only put a complaint to them we haven’t shouted or swear at them, had a bad experience day there, there’s no communication between the staff isn’t good at all, telling us different times for food, telling us can’t do ice cream but other staff said we do. Turn forest match over to the Liverpool game even though forest only had 5 mins left, they said we got it on other tv so watch it on my of them, we sat there all day watching the game, would of been nice to tell us that they will be putting Liverpool game on but except they said we check Facebook and social media, which why would anyone check that before coming to a pub. After we all explained what happened they said we are barred, I don’t think they can bar us over a complaint! WellI will be taking this further and would not return to this rude pub again.

Food was really not good had hot beef gravy in baguette had before was proper meat this time was just meat off deli counter really not good for £7.50

Good food, a friendly welcome and excellent service. Lovely traditional pub.

Service a bit slow for amount of people in pub Roast dinners were very nice 1 Chicken and 1 Beef . Plenty of veg from parsnips ,carrots , cauliflower cheese , red cabbage ,Roast Potatoes and mash.Plenty of gravy and Yorkshire and stuffing ball. £ 9.29

Me and my partner are new to the area and recently tried out our local. Absolutely amazing, the food was fantastic. I had the 8oz steak (medium) and it was spot on. My partner had the mixed grill and again it was spot on. Very good portions at a very reasonable price. The staff where lovely. A great way to spend our year anniversary

This is a lovely little pub for a relaxed drink and some food. The entrance doesn't look very inviting but inside, it's warm and cosy with a nice atmosphere. I'd be wary of ordering the seabass though. We went a few days into their new menu launch and it was awful, flavourless and without half of the ingredients advertised in the menu.
