The Talbot in Mansfield

Amazing pub, delicious good priced food, really friendly staff. I spoke to someone on the phone to ask if they allowed dogs and he was so lovely and reassured me they do and have water and treats available. We were served by Andrea (I think her name was) both on the bar and our waitress, she seemed rushed off her feet but was still so polite and pleasant. I hope you really appreciate her as she is an asset to your company and goes above and beyond for all her customers, I think she is in need of some amazing feedback and a pay rise! She was the only person I saw working there, taking the orders, serving drinks and delivering the food to the table. I didn’t see one other member of staff the whole time even when she was serving a massive queue on her own at the bar. Honestly this woman needs some recognition!

Brilliant atmosphere. The lovely barmaid, Georgia, was so friendly and polite. She made me feel so welcome as she does every time. Always so helpful. Prices are a little high but what's cheap now days. Would highly recommend!

First time back at The Talbot since new owners took over. Have to say...what a difference. The atmosphere is so friendly decor much improved Georgia was so nice and happy to help. Food was so much better quick service with a smile. Will now be going back to our local 😁

Really enjoy going to the Talbot (better than the pub across the road) Very friendly staff and a great beer garden at the back.Food is really good also. We tend to have the 3 items for £12

Been coming to The Talbot for years mostly on a Friday for a quick meal which has always been very goodOn Friday 12th June 2022 we visited again and I ordered a 8oz gammon steak which I have had many times beforeApparently the pub is now under new Management so probably has a new chief and food supplier but the steak was a massive disappointment compared to previous visitsThe steak was so small that the pineapple ring was nearly as big as the steak and after cutting off the fat there was hardly anything leftUsed to love a meal here and I hope this is just teething problemsThe staff were nice and service fast but as picture shows this was the steak before I had even touched it

Drink here regularly. Staff all really friendly and good prices. Could do with the music not being raised as soon as it hits a certain time. Often too loud to have a conversation

Visited the Talbot Inn today for the first time in a long time.Highly disappointed with the pub. Lots of items off the menu as they didn't have them.Ordered a signature burger and my partner had the signature hunters chicken. Both meals very disappointing. No bacon on the hunters chicken, and no white BBQ sauce on the burger, and that made it very dry. Cheese not melted ether as the burger was warm at best. The Hunters chicken had alot of fat on the gammon and was sat in a bowl of melted cheese. No one came to see if the meals was OK. Went to the bar and another customer was complaing about the sharing nachos they had ordered. There was only enough for one person but they was told that's the portion size now, and that's all. No refund offered or even a offer of going back to the kitchen with it.Not asked when paying at the bar when paying the tab if everything was OK. Had to tell them and was just shrugged off, and told they will pass the message to the manager. Both meals left not even half eaten.Safe to say, we won't be returning and I'm sure a few others won't be either.

Came in bank holiday weekend for the football. First time visit, food decent, beer decent, friendly environment. Service by Keely top drawer, very helpful & up for a laugh, will definitely visit again!

Bit like Darlington, a couple of weeks ago, it seems that the price, for selling your souls, and voting that way, is higher prices at the bar.Still a very nice pub, not so friendly for away fans anymore, but if you don't wear colours, or misbehave, you can easily slip past the security... Leaving them mildly confused, that they don't recognise you from any wedding or funeral, that they were invited to.Having been contacted by the owner, I am honour bound to report that the change of stance is on police advice, rather than company policy. I tacitly take that to mean that if you want to subvert Nottinghamshire Constabulary's revisiting of 84/85, then just slip in quietly, and behave like civilised human beings, in which case Jordan will be pleased to welcome you back earlier than he's currently allowed to...And there was me taking it personally, over a friendly that turned out to be anything but.
