Proper Landlord & Landlady at a proper village local. We moved back to the area in April of 2021 after relocating from Cottesmore. We left friends at our old local behind and missed them terribly. Then we found Paul and Lisa at The Anchor and instantly hit it off. Although we haven't lived in the area before we have family that have and to say they have accepted us is an understatement. We love going for pint most evenings and we regularly have their amazing steaks on a Thursday. Thanks for welcoming us and its so nice to have a landlord and landlady that cares for their customers. Keep up the great work both.

Food is outstanding. Fantastic service. For an off the beaten track local pub this place does not disappoint. Highly recommended.

Great little cosy pub with friendly staff and also dog friendly. 👌

Surprisingly good! Food was very good (a bit too salty, but still good) and toilets were nice and clean. Definitely recommend!

Had a group meal there for Christmas. The food was delicious, hot and well presented. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very attentive. The lovely log fire made the pub warm and inviting. Could not fault. Definitely will be returning.

Confused by all the good reviews, maybe management has changed but when I went the food was disgusting and the place run down.

We had the "fish & chips deal" (2 for £12) on a Friday evening. We expected a fairly small portion for the price but we were very pleasantly surprised to see the fish was the length of the plate and tasted lovely too. A big thank you to the staff and the next time we're in the area we'll call again.

The food is absolutely AMAZING. Standard village pub Sunday lunch issue for vegetarians of not a lot of option, but I had the cheesey flatbread starter with chips, and it was gorgeous. Well worth it! Tried some of the batter from my son's fish and chips and it was amazing too! Husband says the beef Yorkshire pudding wrap Sunday lunch was also awesome. Highly recommended for omnivores at least 😁Covid setup is impressive, it feels very safe. Nice and warm too thanks to the patio heaters.
