Nice meals at a reasonable price plus a nice atmosphere.

Had a brilliant night at a local pub. We played pool and darts, got other locals involved and really enjoyed ourselves. There aren't many pubs with games equipment anymore so that made it all the more special.The place itself is roomy, comfortable and not too expensive. The only thing they could improve on would be to have more bar snacks. Would have been great to have fresh cobs kept by for when the hunger sets in before the journey home 😋

A proper pub with proper beer and pork scratchings. Friendly people and a convivial atmosphere. Lots of screens showing live sport

While visiting family we decided to visit the gate inn. We had a spot of lunch and as a result was sick all night which we think was food poisoning. We did try telling the landlord and landlady but was met with rudeness and denial. The pub itself was dreary and very unwelcoming. Needless to say I wouldn’t recommend the gate or be visiting again!!!!

Very nice and comfortable pub. Felt welcome and the young lady that served us was friendly. Clean toilets. Even though they had to replace my son and his girlfriend's drink, we enjoyed our stay there.

Brilliant pub, unexpected little gem. Very friendly staff and patrons. Recommended by locals whilst looking for a good pub. Will definitely visit again next time we are up this way on boat. Hopefully for food aswell next time. Menu looks smashing. Would thoroughly recommend.
