The Old Forge Tea Rooms in Melton

Visited today for the first time.Lovely setting, very friendly dog called Lola.Slow service but worth the wait. Delicious hot chocolate and yummy fruit cake and walnut cake.Very picturesque with the thatched roof & brook at the bottom of the garden . Would recommended, but be prepared to wait.

Quite a sweet little place with an inexplicably grumpy man serving; he lets his dog roam the garden but complained at us that she would get a stomach ache from the fragments of falafel the baby dropped, then he rudely shouted at us for walking down the bank of the stream to see the bridge, he could put a sign up if he feels it's unsafe. Maybe he had an off-day but I didn't need it.

Lovely lunch and nice surroundings and very friendly. We would recommend it and have put it on our place for future visits.

Lovely little tea room with garden area for seating. Friendly owners, will call again. Called again, (Mar 22) while out cycling with a group. All had a bite to eat and a cuppa, good value, recommend.

What a fantastic tea room, sitting by the river, enjoying a lovely lunch with some of the best chips I have ever tasted. We will be coming back and I would certainly suggest you make the effort as well. An absolute gem.

Beautiful place, outside dining is a little slice of heaven. The stream runs by the dining area and the church is in view. Also got a visit from the dog!Would most definitely recommend :)

Stumbled across this place by accident as it's hidden away. Great garden to sit out in, plenty of tables, sandwiches were good, well priced.Worth popping in if you are driving down the A52 and fancy a quirky place for a coffee. Recommended

Lovely location, Lovely to sit it in the sun. coffee & cake was average. They don’t do any gluten-free options, which was disappointing as my wife is coeliac & they only take cash.

Absolutely my favourite place! What a lovely outlook too, the food is top notch as is the tea and coffee but the views are to die for.
