This was our first visit to this wonderful pub. It is in a really beautiful village and the wonderful welcome, service and food and drink that we received this evening made it a real delight. This pub is a proper little gem. Can not wait to go back. Superb

Lovely location but very poor value on the food. Paid £5 for a very basic cheese and onion cob, nothing to accompany it, would have got far better from our local cafe. Wife and Son paid £11.50 each for what was essentially a minimalistic chicken and bacon toasted sandwich, with little filling, a few chips and a dollop of coleslaw. Extremely overpriced and have had so much better at other places for much less. Disappointed and won’t be eating there again - maybe it was the chefs day off?

Brilliant beer, food and service. I had the Stilton burger, wife had a steak ciabatta, both delicious and very reasonably priced.

Great little pub, limited menu. Would recommend booking for food as we'd booked a table & when asking for menus were told they'd need to check the kitchen would accept the order. Self service & food bookings at the bar, no waitress service.

A gem of a pub if I'm honest. A village pub, in the middle of almost nowhere, that's open and serves food all day on a Monday! Don't find many of those these days, mores the pity. Now, what makes this pub even more of a rarity, is that they have a chef that can cook a steak to absolute perfection. My son and I both had the rump steak, his cooked medium and mine, rare. A birthday treat as he's 21 in just over a week. It's always a massive risk ordering a steak cooked rare, when not knowing the quality of the meat, in a pub that I've never been to before. I'll say now, that I will happily drive for close to an hour to have another. Oh, their Guinness is decent too.

Turned up at lunchtime Thursday and had the small fish and chips and it was an excellent meal, one of the best I've tasted in a long time! My wife had their newly listed green lentil cottage pie and that also was a hit! Definitely going back there!!

Visited a local nursery where we could have had lunch but we thought, no we would give a local pub our custom instead. I wish we hadn't bothered. Walked in, ordered a pint, asked the waitress who was very nice, if they had a table for two. The grumpy old s@d behind the bar told her, not us " no more bookings" without so much as acknowledging us. So if you are that big guy with a ginger beard, not sure if you are the governor or not, but cheer up, treat people with a bit more respect, why work in or run a pub if you can't put on a happy face for punters who have put themselves out to give you their money? The pint was very good (landlord) but the miserable big guy not so.
