Castle Barge in Newark and Sherwood

Brilliant pub on the river. Good selection of beers and lagers. Perfect place to enjoy a pint when it's sunny and to enjoy the view across the river and the castle.

An excellent place for Pizza and a beer. Ideal location. Proper food. Unique place to go. I really insist you go there coz it was and always has been good

One of my favourite places too go in Newark, normally in summer on the bikes with friends, Food and beer is always top notch 👍

Novel bar, sign inside claims it to be Newark's most popular bar, but it had the fewest customers of the thre pubs we visited.Unfortunately there was an issue that prevented them from serving real cider, so we were limited to bottles or a couple of real ales.The beer I had was Dragonfly, and was clear and drinkable.Rating would be higher if it wasn't for the dispensing problems.

Stopped off for some lunch and I was very happy with the whole experience. The staff were friendly, chatty and helpful. The food was amazing. I had Bob's Bigger Barge Burger and it was one of the best burgers I've had. Highly recommended.

Wonderful location right on the river, the Barge has three distinct areas, a sprawling set of tables on the river bank, a downstairs snug, and a light, airy dining room. There's normally a decent range of beers / ciders, but whether it was the end of a long weekend, or supply chain issues, there wasn't a great selection (and no bar snacks except DRPs) ... Fortunately we're not a fussy bunch, so we made do, a great time was had by all

A lovely peaceful location all staff were friendly excellent view over the river we didn't have any food the coffee was lovely and very well priced. I will definitely go back again.

Been using this place on and off for years and now it’s getting too pricey for a truck driver at £4.70 a pint for Guinness. The days of 50p off a pint for drivers has gone. Still a great place to come if you’ve never been before 👍
