Lovely footlong sausages, chips are usually nice but do have some bad nights like all take outs! Only thing i would say is the gravy is like water.Friendly delivery drivers, its cheaper to order using their own app and you get a discount every 7 orders

God awful chips. Ordered at 6pm, food arrived at 7.15 minus the pizza. Told the driver so he said he would call the shop and get one sent to me. I called and asked then myself if the driver had rang, they said no? I said I want the pizza they had missed off and fresh chips and the ones that had been delivered were pale and disgusting. He rushed me off the phone 'yes yes il do that'. Pie came in the pukka pie plastic wrapper that it had been microwaved in! The fish was a thick grease batter with barely any fish in. What a waste of £20!!

Seen better throne out to birds whole lot straight in bin pay on pay pal got money instantly refunded. Stay clear

Sorry excuse for a chip shop, we ordered via just eat and was notified food was on the way… fast forward 35 minutes later still no food? Contacted the place on the phone and I get greeted with the rudest woman I’ve ever spoken with! Only asked where the food was & she hung up the phone.I called back and no joke a woman with the exact same voice answers…. I say “Hello I was just speaking with you about our order” she flat out denies ever speaking with me.Food then arrives 15 minutes later and as you can see by the picture Stevie Wonder could’ve cooked a better portion of chips! All rubbery & cold most of them looked like they’d been sat in the fryer since pre-covid.If you can cook better at home why would you bother paying for it? First of all when we went into the place, we were ignored. Nobody even looked up to acknowledge us. We wandered around but hubby fancied the Jungle Meat so we went back. Placed the order and it was ignored. Hubby ended up without his jungle meat, despite it being clearly ordered. Peri peri chips were no different to the others: soggy, limp and greasy. Don't bother!

Possibly the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten, the gravy was extremely water… may as well just have water on my chips. The fish… there was barely any batter, was extremely rubbery. Chips were standard but very put off by the two listed points. Will not return.

You know its bad when someone cannot read and follow simple instructions.Constantly they forget items and then when you inform them they flat out deny it. It shows the quality of staff they hire when they are obviously lying; do you really remember if you did or did not put a single item in a mass of orders? If you were that skilled you wouldn't constantly be making these mistakes that ruin a whole order.Not a single time have castle gate fish bar gotten an order correct. Not. A. Single. Time. Other reviews clearly support this as an issue fof their service.Their staff are rude and unprofessional and clearly not fit to even work at a chippy.Their pizzas taste like they got dipped in the ocean and overall not a nice place to go (though I will say their Bombay fries and portion sizes are pretty good)Sadly it is the last time I will be going to castle gate fish bar as its just horrible service.I would highly recommend you find somewhere else. KFC or grillano are better options

Really nice food, horrendous service! We literally just placed an order as we have done several times before and it arrived incomplete with only 2 of the 3 meals ordered being delivered. The delivery driver called the shop and put me on the phone to the rudest person i have ever had the misfortune of speaking to. She said all the food was there because she'd packed it herself and implied that i was either too stupid or lying. I sent the incomplete order back after being huffed at down the phone for simply asking for what i had been charged for. Would never order from here again, horrendous customer service!!!!
