Fish King in Newark and Sherwood

Used to be my go to weekly , lately the service has been horrendous, online ordering turned off and staff complaining it's busy with only a couple customers. Tried tonight after 5 failed web orders (timed out due to non acceptance) , called twice and visited and no chicken , donner meat at 6.30pn. Shame really as it really was amazing until last couple months ...

Very pleased good food.

Inconsistent - ordered mini fish one time and it was good, ordered again a few weeks later and it was disgusting, rubbery, tasted foul and stank. Partner's was the same. It has put us off ordering fish from there again.

This is my local chippy, it used to be very good but in recent months it must of changed hands as it's now poor.........tasteless, poor quality fish and the batter was rock hard on the outside yet uncooked and stodgy on the inside, not good.I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Food was great and still nice and hot when I got home

Phoned in an order, collected and the cost to be reasonable. Service good.

Enjoyed the lovely large portions, excellent food.

Had to wait outside in the rain for 25 minutes as their website times are incorrect, £12 for sausage chips & gravy x 2 is a bit steep, food was okayish staff were surly, clean premises

My favourite chippy in Newark. All the food is lovely, well cooked and very tasty and not greasy or fatty like some other places. They serve the best fish you'll ever get from a chip shop
