Hay Barn Cafe in Newark and Sherwood

Beautiful fresh cooked food. Very generous portions, you won't leave hungry. Homemade cakes to die for. Service is friendly an excellent. Well worth a visit.

Excellent! Delicious cake and reasonably priced. The Victoria Sponge was possibly the very best I'd ever had! as light and fluffy as a cloud with a superb filling and the added treat of strawberries and cream on the side

Great little place.Finally found time to go out for a cake and relax! We picked a lovely day and decided to go for a little drive out to The Hay Barn. We had never been before so were not sure what to expect. It was lovely. The staff were really friendly and very polite and never left you waiting around trying to get attention. We decided to go for the afternoon tea which was really good value and too much food for us to finish, so a rather large slice of cake came home with us in a little box they provided. Nothing was too much trouble. We will certainly be going back and look forward to trying other things. Thank you all at The Hay Barn for a lovely experience.

Dropped my dog off at the groomers and this place was recommended. Excellent recommendation. Had a lovely breakfast of sausage and beans on toast served by an equally lovely lady. Excellent price too for a village cafe. Will certainly come again. Thank you x x x

Lovely food, cosy environment and friendly staff.

Excellent place for food . All locally sourced. The posh fish finger butties we had were great and although we didn't try one the large breakfasts look amazing. Staff are lovely, efficient and although the cafe is not very big it does get busy. Ten miles from home but well worth the trip for the quality of the food. They deserve custom, fab place!!

Love this place. Went for lunch and food. 2 drinks, lunch for 2 and cake for just over £30. Small inside but extra seating outside. Staff are lovely

We only stopped for a coffee, but some of the food being served looked really appetising. Seating both inside and outside in a farmyard setting. Locally made jars of produce and selection of fruit beers on sale too.

Wonderful impromptu lunch at the Hay Barn. First visit; won't be the last! Oodles of great food, friendly, helpful staff. Unsurprisingly, quite busy but staff very organised so it didn't take long to get served this and other food
