Very disappointed. We had high expectations. It was very expensive and tasteless. The shop looks impressive and the food was fresh, but it lacked flavour. You are paying for the image and not the food.

Unfortunately we used to love food from here, but following a bill of £38 for two mains, a rice and one portion of ribs we were left very dissatisfied. The ribs and the chicken main was so fatty that we couldn't eat it. It is such a shame as this was our little treat every now and then.

Just moved to the area. Fab food and you can have a drink!I just have to say though, the gentleman below has absolutely no idea! Overpriced by 100% per portion? I've not been to a chinese in over 10 years where food was that cheap. Everything has gone up in price dear.

I really can't understand why people rate this place so highly. I can only think they don't understand food, or even spread their wings and go anywhere else, therefore have nothing else to compare it to. The food is way below average. Small portions, way overpriced by at least 100 to 120% per portion. Seriously don't bother with this place. It was overpriced before covid, and now it's gone up again. Rip off.

Its now 2022 and I wanted to update my review. I'm a single parent, I work full time, and as such its often more convenient to grab a take away after work rather than coming home and cooking! My daughter and I are particularly fussy when it comes to take away food, especially Chinese food. Living in Newark there are a LOT of Chinese / Cantonese take aways to choose from ... We've had bad food at one time from all of them, except for KaHo.As my previous review says, the restaurant is a little more expensive than the others in the area, but it is totally worth the extra expenditure when I know i am going to get great quality food. I've learnt that buying Chinese food (and Kebabs!) In Newark is a real gamble with your money... Many times we have had to put food straight in the bin from a lot of these places. I know when I order from KaHo - however - my money is safe! The quality never seems to vary, the food is always very tasty, I've never had a poor quality meal from here... Never once over cooked, under cooked, never too greasy or inedible for some other reason. We are VERY fussy with Chinese food and as such we tend to avoid it after our previous local experience. However, KaHo always deliver! We particularly enjoy the Sweet & Sour Chicken Hong Kong style. The batter is always spot on, the chicken is never dry, or hard. The vegetables in the dish are cooked the perfect amount to compliment the dish, and the sweet and sticky sauce is right on the money. The King Prawn curry is also a great dish, with a generous number of King Prawns. The curry isn't particularly hot, but is still spicy in flavour, having the slightest of kicks to it so that you know you are eating a curry! I like my food spicy, full of flavour, but not painful or hot! The curry really does hit the spot! The restaurant itself is always impeccably clean. The staff friendly and welcoming. Due to covid they don't allow customers to wait in the shop for their food, I called yesterday and had a 30min wait as I didn't order ahead. I took a quick walk home, but it's something to consider if you do not live right near the shop.... Off road parking is available right outside the door, and I'd suggest ordering in advance. All ok all, another great experience at KaHo.A little more expensive than typical Chinese takeaway but absolutely worth every penny. The quality of the food is second to none, you certainly get what you pay for and I will now choose KaHo every time in future. Slightly costlier, much higher quality. The place is incredibly clean (immaculate) as are the staff who are all very well presented. I would imagine the kitchens to ve the same, the standard seems very high all over. Incredibly friendly and welcoming employees greeted me at the door! Not a negative thing to say!

·

Extremely well cooked and tasty Chinese food. I seldom buy takeaways, but for KaHo I make an exception!

·

Not the best Chinese I've had; their "special fried rice" was a tub of egg fried rice and a separate tub of meat and veg.

·

Excellent food and service. By far the best we have tasted. Would highly recommend.

·

Great Gluten free menu. The food is always very tasty and very well cooked, the collection point and the shop is immaculate as ever and the staff are always polite and very smartly dressed. Super Covid protocols.

What can l say apart from we've just enjoyed without a doubt the best chinese/cantonese meal we've eaten in a long time. Never had a takeaway from KaHo before so ordered set menu B for two. Absolutely beautiful, would highly recommend. Thr premises appear to be spotless and the staff lovely
