Not the best Pizza Express experience unfortunately! The restaurant was extremely short staffed and our food wasn't to the usual standard. If it wasn't for the manager (who'd been drafted in from another branch) my fellow diners and I would have been very unhappy with forgotten orders, burned food, and our gluten free diner having to have a child's pizza as the regular bases were unavailable. Pizza Express need to give that manager a raise!

Usually the service is good and the wait time isn't too long. Brilliant vegan pizzas and carrot cake as well! The view across the Trent is great! However, recently I visited with a party of 8 other guests to celebrate my Mum's birthday on 15th April. It was very disappointing this time. We had to sit on separate tables so our group of 9 couldn't be sat together; the head waitress that day was very miserable and forgot two of our drinks and the food took a very long time to arrive.

Nice restaurant. Parking can be difficult Staffing was an issue on the day we dined. The restaurant depended on one experienced server however, they were all friendly and trying their best. Some items on the menu were not available due to menu changeover. Even so it was a pleasant experience

My partner and I went here Valentines Day and our experience was a disaster. We fully understand that it was going to be busy but to be seated at a table with no table number and near the door with a massive draft. It took someone 10 minutes to finally come over and order our drinks. No table number meant we were not able to order/pay via the app, we also had a free voucher for something so we couldn’t use that. We also ordered the 3 course meal at £24.95 per person. We entirely thought it meant a 3 course meal PER PERSON. It most definitely wasn’t. It was very misleading and a con overall. We had a starter to share, which was 3 heart sized dough balls, hardly enough to share. Our mains was the pollo pesto pasta, the pasta was undercooked, but we were so hungry we just ate it anyway. We had a dessert to share which was small. The whole experience ruined our Valentines evening. Disappointing.

Lovely evening with family celebrating a birthday. Food was delicious. Service was great. I do love Pizza Express, as I love their Romano pizzas and of course their delicious dough balls with garlic butter. Nice atmosphere.

Arrived for our table at 6:15pm as a table of 10 so understand that was quite a few of us, however we didn't get served until 20 mins later and waiting an hour and half for food. While waiting we never got asked if we wanted more drinks to tide us over. I personally had pasta which looked reheated and was burnt. However, pizzas looked very tasty but also slightly burnt. We had bowling booked down the road at 7:30 and had to cancel as we didn't get our food until 8pm. The waiting staff were very kind and apologetic about everything, however I felt the manager was very disrespectful and had a disregard to be sincere regarding her apology. What's more, she kept trying to avoid communications with us knowing we were not happy with our evening which was very clear from her body language. We believe that the problem lies with prioritised Deliveroo orders and perhaps this should be reconsidered to avoid a repeat of this rather questionable experience. However, to try to compensate we did receive a reduction to our bill which we appreciate and feel this does make up for our dissatisfaction.

It started well but went downhill rather quickly! We had been seen to for drinks and what we ordered for main course, we then had to wait for an hour and a half until served. The disappointing factor was that some of the food was ok but some of it was terrible e.g burned pizza and burned pasta would you believe it! The staff seemed disassociated and never once checked back on us amidst this long wait! Whilst waiting, a table next to us had obviously waited a decent amount of time and decided to quit on their order and walked away, not surprised! This wait also caused us to have to cancel the rest of our evening plans, DISSAPOINTED! The manager has a complete and utter disregard for customer satisfaction. Her attitude lacked compassion and she was not apologetic at all for this abysmal performance. The rest of the staff though were lovely and accommodating. oh by the way, the salad was divine

We arrived promptly for our 8pm booking but had to wait over 10 minutes to be greeted and an additional 5 minutes to be seated, to which we saw a number of staff members pushing tables together to accommodate us, leading us to believe they weren’t prepared for our large group booking made over a week prior. We waited between 20 and 30 minutes before one member of our group left the table and had to seek out a staff member to take our drinks order. The member of our group noted that the waiting staff appeared to be stood together talking at the other end of the restaurant. To speed up time, we ordered drinks, starters and mains at the same time. The drinks arrived in an acceptable time, however I believe we waited 45 minutes before enquiring as to where our starters were. By this point we were only one of two tables left at the restaurant. We were told that the kitchen had lost the ticket for our starters, so we asked if we could cancel them and just have the mains. The waitress stated she would ask her manager, however we didn’t receive a response and our main courses were brought to us 10 minutes later. Having arrived at the restaurant at 8pm, we ate at 9:30pm.Positively, the main courses were pleasant and tasty, however we did not have another opportunity to order more drinks, no one came to check on us after the mains were brought out and we felt pressured to eat up and leave the restaurant as quickly as possible. In general, we feel incredibly let down by this experience and extremely unvalued and unwelcome as customers. There was little to no communication from the staff or management, no acknowledgement or an apology for the poor service, let alone a discount offered. On a separate note, we had two party members who were running late, therefore we asked if we could order ahead for them, around 15 minutes after placing our initial food order, before our starters had even arrived. We were told by the staff member that they were not accepting any additional restaurant orders. This was despite those party members being part of the original booking numbers. As mentioned by a previous review, it appears the restaurant prioritises takeaway orders over customers in the restaurant which is frankly unacceptable when it results in an hour and a half wait for food.

We went here as a party of 8. Four adults and four children,on a busy Saturday night. From the moment we walked through the door the staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome. The waiter was knowledgable about the menu and went out of his way to ensure that he accommodated all of our requests. The food was delicious and delivered in a timely fashion and all in all I would say 5* for pizza express. 🍕

We where traveling back home from holiday in Norfolk and decided to break the Journey with a meal at Pizza Express. You can use your tesco club card vouchers here for 3 times there face value. This is on food only. So for a meal for four that should have cost ÂŁ65 only cost me the drinks so about ÂŁ10...and a tip for good service. As usual the pizza was to the same quality as other Pizza express I have used before. The restaurant has a different design with an upstairs reached by a spiral staircase. There is a great view of the river..Enjoy
