The Alders in Newark and Sherwood

It's a lovely well laid out pub, the food smelt definitely delicious 😋. Unfortunately I didn't stay to try it but I'm sure I'll be back some time. I have added the current food and drinks menu to the review.

Had a really nice sharing meal tonight with my partner. The Alders is a quaint establishment. The menu is what you would expect from a typical chain restaurant and bar. The food is very good and the service is very fast. The staff a super courteous and eager to assist. The bar Istelf is very clean, it has a bar area, restaurant seating around the floor and a carvery area because you can order from the main menu or order a carvery service. The Carvery Area is very well presented, you can't miss it. All in all we had a really nice experience here. The only thing I would say is that it would be better if there were a drinks menu which details more than just wine. Alot of people enjoy cocktails and my partner is one of those people. Also I am a non drinker so a more extensive non alcoholic drinks range would be good. There are non alcoholic wines, spirits etc. It's good because non alcoholic lager and cider are not always best for non drinkers. I am an advocate of bars expanding their non alcoholic range for people who don't drink. But this aside the Alders is a lovely place that I would recommend to anyone of my friends and family ❤️🙏

Been for Cavery this afternoon and it was 10/10. All they staff was lovely and polite, Aaron the chef went above and beyond, especially with my son. We will definitely be retuning. Great food and great service 5/5

Thanks to Carl the chef for our carvery which was delicious. Plenty of gluten free options (not the Yorkshire pudding though). Next time I think we'll go for the small!

Great for a family get together. Play area for young children. Good menu. We had the Sunday carvery which was great in terms of choice but beef and pork were tough and roast potatoes firm inside. Probably all cooked too quickly. Service good.

The staff are always to friendly and helpful. There was a small problem with my mums meal as she had hunters chicken and the chicken was only slightly warm. I told the manageress and straight away they took it and within 5 minutes had replaced the meal with a whole fresh plate and it was perfect. The carvery was delicious as always and the other meals were cooked well. We had the 30% off too so it was a bargain.

Enjoyed our visit here. Service was good and staff were friendly. We were a party of 8 at lunch time, but our food arrived in good time. 2 of us had the carvery which was a looked and tasted a bit like it had standing out for a long time. Otherwise food was fine for a chain pub.Did not see much evidence of cleaning between customers and only one hand sanitiser at the entrance. None near or after the carvery area which I would have expected .Good value for money.

Wow, I wasn’t expecting an absolutely amazing burger from here! 3 of us had the Knockout burger which we all said was one of the best burgers we’ve ever had, and I’ve been to Meat 59 which has the best burgers in the world… this wasn’t far behind! (The picture does not do it justice). The nachos were not that great hence my critical 4 star rating, but on the whole it was a good meal out. Got 30% off on one of there offers which was a bonus. Good work Alders 💪

Booked a table tonight (turned up 40 minutes early but still got seated no problem) and as we are regulars here we were excited to go and take our relatives to show them why we love it here... and we weren't disappointed. Food was excellent (every meal), staff were friendly and as welcoming as always. If I could rate this place higher than five stars I would. Can't wait to return again soon 😋😊

Staff helpful and friendly. Reasonable selection of pub food including vegetarian and some vegan. We had the carvery. Meat was melt-in-your-mouth good with good variety of veg, some a smidgen undercooked for our taste. Good value for money and we will go again as it's very convenient when visiting our son, daughter-in-law and grandchild who live in Ollerton. We were also there last summer and ate outside- same good experience of staff and food.
