Really nice pub, location on the river is lovely on a sunny day. Only issue was despite the lovely location, the outdoor area could do with a revamp, tables broken and wobbly and grass is really overgrown but it could be lovely. Did not eat but the food looked and smelt lovely.

Stopped off here for lunch on Sunday as I was nearby and with it being a decent day for the first day of Spring. Such a beautiful location, good food and friendly staff too. Will definitely return.

They have a sign saying no dogs so you can't go in to order drinks or food. Took 30 minutes for someone to eventually come.out and take a drinks order. Asked for a menu but they never came back. It's by the river bank on a popular dog walking route. Get your act together and look outside. You may make more money.

Called late afternoon for a meal with another couple having visited Southwell. Car park well organised. Staff welcoming and helpful. Surroundings were contemporary. Lunch Menu was satisfactorily varied and choice included vegetarian options. Service was prompt, food hot and helpings were on the generous side. All four of us enjoyed our meals. 2 spoiled themselves with sweets - again, generous and, once more, ' hit the spot'. Our wine was good with reasonable choice of reds. Men had beers to start, both served at a good temperature and clear. Table water was iced and lemon(ed). Coffees were all good. Would certainly return. Setting by the river couldn't be much better. Look up the menus on line to ensure there's something to your taste. If so, go and enjoy!! Walks by the Trent are there for the taking before/after if you're up for it!

Lovely place in a picturesque setting, good choice of food, pleasant staff. Will visit again in warmer days.

We had booked a table for 7.30. We arrived at 7.30 to be told by the manager that they were just getting out table ready and it would be 5 minutes. 15 minutes later with still no sign of our table I had a look and all the tables were occupied. We were finally shown to our table at 7.58. This situation was badly managed. Honesty would have been easier coupled with the offer of a free drink. My husband had to negotiate with them to take cost of a round of drinks off the bill. The rest of the staff were lovely and the food was good. Just a shame we were not given the truth on arrival.

We finally got to do our Wedding Reception here in October 21, even though we have already been married for 15 months!!! We had the Captains Cabin function room! Alan and his team were fantastic, from start to finish everything was perfect! The food was amazing! The staff were well presented and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. All of our guests had such a wonderful time, we even had to pay the mini Bus to wait longer as no one wanted to leave!!! A great night! A huge Thank you to you all for making our special evening memorable!! Dawn & Colin Burgess

Good lunchtime pizza and light meal of mushrooms on sour bread toast. Our Great Niece enjoyed her lunch but the pizza was a little large, staff very helpful with packaging up to take home the remainder of the meal. Great outlook onto the River Trent.

The Bromley is in a lovely location and the food was great! Its a amazing place to end a long stroll or dog walk along the river Trent. There is onsite parking as well as a carpark just two or three minutes walk down the road. I will be visiting again soon!

We had a great lunch by the river here today. Service was polite, helpful and covid friendly. Beautifully set on the river so you can walk some of your food off after. The food was perfect we both enjoyed their twice fried chips with our meals and the gravy deserves a mention.
